Just an update - jabbed myself around 10am this morning on 5mg (last week) and I've woken up to an awful stomach cramp in lower belly and severe diarrhoea. Haven't had any side effects until now. I cooked both myself and my partner Moussaka, so not sure if I've poisoned myself with my own cooking or if it's jab related - he isn't unwell.
Has anyone experienced this?

Hope you feel better soon.

I had the same, on 2.5mg I was very slightly constipated and on 5mg I’m having diarrhoea constantly.

Loving the ditching clothes chat... it's a really good idea to get rid of stuff that's too big and I will embrace that as well. Makes it harder to accept any weight gain.

Has anyone else had a prolonged plateau? I've only lost 3lbs in the last 3 weeks - and I do feel the effects of the medication are weaker now even though am on 5mg. I do need to remember I've lost 19lbs in 2 months which I am so pleased about but would love to see a bigger drop before Xmas. Maybe I need to get more exercise ?

My first post on the October starters thread! I’ve lost 5kg in 5 weeks but nothing in the last 3. Been tracking calories (1400, some days less) and doing all the right things (water, protein).

i’m experimenting for the rest of this week and going to increase calories by 200-300 a day to kickstart things. I hope this works, will report back!

ArtfullyCrumpled · 04/12/2024 09:15

Yes @terracottacountryfarm I had exactly the same. Felt like food poisoning. Took several days to settle.

WafflingDreamer · 04/12/2024 09:38

With dress sizes I've always found for bigger sizes I need to drop at least 2 stone to go down a dress size then more like a stone for smaller sizes. That said I was 22st and 5ft 10 and still wearing stretchy size 22 clothes, I've lost 22lb and still nowhere near fitting back into my size 22 jeans!

Throughthegrapevine · 04/12/2024 10:30

I’m on week 7, week 2 of moving upto 5mg. I felt I had much more suppression on 2.5 and can’t really feel the effects of the higher dose other than dealing with insomnia and tiredness 😭 has anyone else experienced this?

I have just had an email back from MedExpress to say that they changed their price matching policy yesterday and are now offering the price difference plus £5.

sparklesandfizz · 04/12/2024 11:33

Well done everyone and hope those feeling rough get through it quickly.
I started on 4th October and am now in week 9 on 5mg currently but plan to increase to 7.5mg after the bonus dose on Friday.

So exactly 2 calendar months from starting I am down 2 stone this morning which feels amazing! Am able to wear some clothes that haven’t fitted for years and like many of you plan to ditch the old clothes as and when they no longer fit.

I still have a long way to go as started at 17st 1lb so absolutely in this for the long haul but this time with the help of the MJ it feels different……
It feels sustainable as no food noise and am eating 1200 cal a day. Not even panicking about Christmas as I see it as doable by just continuing what I am doing now. Looking forward to seeing 14 on the scale hopefully next week.

Am looking to start some gentle exercise over the next few weeks as a way of getting in better shape which will be a big change for me so 🤞

I have been lucky as no real side effects apart from constipation and occasional heartburn on the first few days after injecting.

Really loving seeing everyone’s progress and hoping for a fun festive season wearing some new clobber and a much healthier 2025 where we all get to goal whatever that may be.

Fizzleawayy · 04/12/2024 12:20

Love the talk about all the Xmas outfits!

I am such an idiot!! I forgot about my b12 app today and missed it. I now have to wait until the 16th and I’m already nearly 2 weeks over due 😢

Hmm the cynical me thinks 5mg is weaker 🫣 and encourages you to go up and then the price also goes up! I have a 5mg pen ready and waiting but I'm only on week 1 of my second 2.5mg pen so I'm no use to you unfortunately. That said I'm actually quite scared to increase the dose given the side effects I've had.. ignore me - I'm a proper crazy bird.

You need to remember that this drug is also used for diabetes and soon to be approved for cardiovascular and kidney disease, so not it’s not weaker. This is a serious drug, that’s regulated, it isn’t some benign marketing ploy.

quite simply our body’s adjust to the drug. Hence why we need to move up to find the right dose for us personally and stay on it.

I took my 4th 5mg last night and have definitely had less suppression the last few weeks although it's definitely got stronger in the last 10 days so think it's just my body getting used to it so it needed to build up in my body a bit more.

Fizzleawayy · 04/12/2024 18:02

@rockingbird put the coat back down. Everyone is welcome to their moments 😏😂😂

What’s everyone had to eat today? I need some inspiration ….

Mincepieinthesky · 04/12/2024 18:07

@rockingbird 😂 I have had the same thoughts myself! Note to self never joke about mounjaro 😅

@Fizzleawayy I’ve got pork stir fry for dinner today

recklessgran · 04/12/2024 18:13

@Fizzleawayy 2 scrambled eggs on one slice of toast for lunch.
Got half an M&S Chinese ready meal but not sure I fancy it. I had the first half the night before last, skipped dinner altogether last night as too tired so here we are!

WafflingDreamer · 04/12/2024 18:38

I have the same breakfast every day, frozen mixed fruit, protein shake and all bran. Gets a massive hit of fibre and a decent bit of protein in too.
Lunch I had a tuna jacket potato
Dinner I'm having chicken salad with a wholemeal tortilla I normally have the same as the kids but they had a club tonight so they had jacket potato
Also had a small bit of banana bread i made
Ending today on 1499kcal, 113g protein, 38g fibre, 181g carbs and 29g fat

Fizzleawayy · 04/12/2024 19:20

@Mincepieinthesky I don’t think Iv ever put pork in a stir fry, it’s always been chicken but I don’t know why it’s always been chicken either 😂 sounds nice.

@recklessgran I love egg on toast but I normally go for poached eggs. Iv never bought the take away meals from supermarkets, I always thought I’d compare it to a real takeaway too much and be disappointed 😅 are they high in calories?

@WafflingDreamer so do you have the all bran with your protein shake instead of milk? Or am i being dim 😂 that’s a great bit of protein there!

I ended up having a protein sweet and sour ready meal that’s been sat in the freezer for a month, we are trying to use all our freezer stuff up to defrost it fully before Xmas so Iv done my part now in trying to get it empty 🤣

I also tried On a dress I bought for my work Xmas do and it fits but it’s just a bit too tight around my hip area😢 I have wide hips and it’s pulling a bit too much in that area for me to wear it… however all the top part fits fine with room (pear shape!)… god knows what i will wear now. I don’t even want to go anymore.

Although nothing like trying on clothing and feeling hideous in it to make you stick yo your diet!

Yeah i make the protein shake quite thick so 30g protein and 100mls milk and pour it on the all bran with the fruit and it tastes pretty good. Means I can have different flavours based on the fruit or protein shake I have.

recklessgran · 04/12/2024 19:36

@Fizzleawayy I don't normally eat ready meals either but with my newfound general lack of interest in food I fancied Chinese but knew that there was no point in me buying all the ingredients like I used to for a big stirfry as I simply wouldn't have been able to eat it all myself. DH detests Chinese so ready made beef in black bean sauce and egg fried rice it was. I know, I know, not that healthy but in it for the long game right? Total calories 423 for half a pack of each and 2 and a half minutes in the microwave. Job done!

ArtfullyCrumpled · 04/12/2024 20:01

Today I had

2 poached eggs with smashed avocado on 2 slices of warburtons small wholemeal loaf.

4 Carr's water biscuits with Philadelphia and cucumber slice.

1 Chicken breast stir fry with small about of basmati rice, baby corn, spring onion, red pepper and a little sweet and sour sauce.

Hey all, wee update from me, and this is just personal to me. I am getting to the stage where I am thinking about the future etc, 8 weeks and 22lbs down is a massive achievement for me. I have joined a gym and have a PT, and my food intake has changed dramatically, I have not had caffeine, crisps, pasta, potatoes, milk, or bread since I started 8 weeks ago. I am starting 7.5mg this week and my view for me personally is, I am going to the end of January then potentially stopping. I feel, (and this is just me) I don't want to have this forever and need to use what I have learnt to continue this journey.

EVK · 04/12/2024 20:57

@Gilly1C - I too am planning to make my next pen my last pen so will be finishing my MJ part of the journey in January.
i want to make it work by myself too and
hope that I will be able to maintain the new habits I have. I’m also just over 8 weeks
and 21lbs down which is incredible for me. NSV has been the confidence I’ve regained. I was avoiding people in the supermarket and turning down invitations because I felt so bad about myself. Bumped into an old friend this week and found myself chatting to her without feeling horribly self conscious. Its the biggest win, not feeling pissed off with myself and disappointed. Hope everyone else
feels this too.
