Maintenance

I've lost almost 3 stone on mounjaro since August, so nearly at the very top of 'healthy' weight. Still may lose a bit more but very aware that I will be at maintenance soon.

Is anyone there already and could you share your schedule and progress?

I'm on 5mg, wears off by the 6/7th day but OK with that as still losing. I have pcos and fully aware that I will gain the weight back without this medication. I always, always have. Once it's worn off a switch flicks and I'm back to square one despite anything I've learned recently about health and food.

Many thanks

Hi, check out some Zoe podcasts. Eating natural foods is important for PCOS, avoiding sugars. You’ve got this! Foods that look like they came from a farm, no sugars. If you must have something sweet, make it yourself and don’t have it as a stand alone. Sorry, I sound bossy. There are maintenance threads here which will help a lot. PCOS sucks. I sympathise.

Thanks, I've never heard of Zoe so I'll check it out.

One of things I love about this medication is that I can not stomach anything sweet anymore. In the past I was a desert monster! I cant go back.

I lost 3 stone once and put 5 back on, so I can't kid myself that I can do it on will power.

Just remember that sugar looks for sugar. So always attach it to a meal if you need it and be firm with yourself. It will become natural. if you make it yourself it will have one sugar source and not all the glucose additives. Try to look for healthier options, such as using apple sauce or dates instead of sugar. Research the hell out of sugar free options. It really will be fine. Honestly, you’ve got this. And you know MJ has your back just in case.
