Hi, I've never used a calorie counting/tracking app.

Can someone recommend an easy to use one. Thanks

Myfitnesspal is the one most use, it's free and has a big range of food data stored so easy to log what you eat

A lot is inaccurate so you may spend time updating it. Once you've done that, the food item stays in your food history to reuse though.

If you scan the barcode it is very easy and accurate, which I do a lot. There are also updated foods I.e. states uk version or current year which match the item you have.

Thank you. I'll download and have a play.

We cook a lot from scratch so it will be a struggle working it out. Portion sizes is the main issue

I prefer nutracheck - its not free but find it super useful comparatively. Its something like £6 a month or £28 a year - plus you can get a month free.

never had anything not be found on there!

I use MFP because it is free and does, everything I need. Easy to find foods, basic graphs, weekly tracking of calories. I can see my graphs going back 5 years.

Nutracheck is also very popular, but monthly/annual costs. Nicer looking but high ongoing cost imo for what you get.

I use ParrotPal - fairly new app powered by AI. Best feature is voice logging. You can say ‘protein coffee at 123cals and 19g protein’ and it logs it.
it only asks you to track cals, protein and steps so there is no fretting over macros. It does set pretty high targets but that’s because it’s programmed for 1lb a week weight loss. It does adjust after your weekly check in based on whether you lost weight or not, or you can set your own targets. There are also a load of podcasts which are quite inspirational too.

I use Loseit , used my fitness pal one but prefer this, it just seems easier, and it records exercise from my Apple Watch, which others probs do, but I just prefer this one x
