Weird places we've lost weight?!

I've been on weight loss injections - Ozempic then Wegovy then Mounjaro - since March 2023 and have slowly and steadily lost weight, now down 30kg with about 5 to go 🥳

Obviously I've lost dress sizes, but there are other unexpected weight loss areas... leading to unexpected costs!

  • my metal strap watch is MASSIVE on me now, as are all my rings. I've had to have my wedding ring resized, and am sending my watch to have links taken out.
  • my feet have gone down a size! I was definitely a 38 before and now I'm easily a 37, why is that?! I thought that shoes would be the one thing I didn't have to buy! (Though it's SO exciting fitting my calves into knee high boots for the first time ever, can't stop trying them on!)
  • I am absolutely convinced that I've lost weight on my earlobes! I wear piercing stud that sort of screw in, so can't be shortened, and they're just hanging off my earlobe. I think I'll have to change them for shorter posts. Can this really be right? Earlobe weight loss?!

Is there anywhere unusual you've lost weight or things that have changed that you weren't expecting?

I'm not complaining at all, it's all brilliant, I just am so fascinated by it all!

I've lost weight so many times and regained it I am used to it. But yes my feet shrinking was a surprise the first time. Well done, you're doing great.

What I find interesting with Mounjaro is that where the weight is coming off is different to when I've lost weight before. It's been coming off the difficult places first - stomach and arms for me - which are usually the more stubborn areas. Normally my bra size goes down quicker than my waist size but on MJ I've been losing the abdominal fat faster which is great. It must be to do with the hormone adjustment of taking MJ.

Ah so feet is a thing! I also have yo-yo'd all my life, but have only ever really managed to lose a stone or so each time, and then put on more. I really hope this is different. I need it to be.
Are you on injections now? I wish you huge success, and freedom from the hopelessness of dieting :)

Interesting! I've def been impressed with arm shrinkage, but wouldn't say I've had the dramatically shrinking tummy yet - I'd like that! Interesting re the hormone adjustment... I think there's still a lot to be understood with this medication. (And yeah, my boobs are like sad old empty udders now but it's still worth it!!!)

I'm on Ozempic and I've lost over 4 stone I've lost weight around Hibs, bum, tummy, and fingers and can now wear rings that had been too tight for years. I've gone down half a size shoes from a wide 5 1/2 to a standard 5. The one place I can't seem to lose it from is my boobs. I hate it because my top half is a good size even almost 2 sizes bigger than my bottom half.

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 21/11/2024 10:20

My face. My glasses kept sliding down and I had to have them adjusted.

LoveSandbanks · 21/11/2024 10:38

I was at the gym last night and my gym tights now have baggy knees! I am also utterly titless. This has the advantage of not needing underwire in my bras and living life in super comfortable bralets but next years bikini tops are going to be comically empty 🤣

HippoPortlyMouse · 21/11/2024 10:39

Yes to feet! I own two pairs of boots of the same style (just different colours) one in a size 5.5 and one in a 6. The 5.5 have always been a bit tight. Now they fit fine and the size 6 are roomy.

I am not looking forward to resizing my rings, that sounds expensive. They're sliding round my finger right now but not in danger of falling off (yet).

Yes I'm on Mounjaro switched from Ozempic (Rybelsus) aiming to lose 100lb. 55 down so far.

Armpits!!
they’re not buldging anymore, now it’s weirdly hollow in there!

Eminybob · 21/11/2024 13:10

I've lost a similar amount as you OP on Mounjaro, 34kg down with 2.5 to go.

I have been this weight before but am definitely a different shape this time, probably due to my age.

For me, it's boobs. Even when slim before I had enormous boobs and could never wear shirts as they would gape. But my boobs have shrunk to a nice proportion to the rest of me. I have bought lots of lovely shirts and shirt dresses.

Rings for me too, I hadn't wore my engagement ring for years, and my wedding ring was so tight it has permanently altered the shape of my finger. Now both are loose.

My legs and arms are super skinny. Possibly legs a bit too much. Leggings that fit round my waist are far too baggy around the legs.

I'd be interested to see if my earlobes are slimmer. I have some earrings that I've never been able to wear as my lobes were too fat so I'll have to see if they now fit.

And I haven't sized down in shoes, but I had noticed over the last few years that my feet were bigger as I've been buying the same size but they were tighter, and they fit again now.

Of course where I really want to see the difference is my waist, but that has been the slowest to shrink.

GingerLiberalFeminist · 21/11/2024 13:17

I'm on the tablets and have lost 2st so far. Weirdly my collar bones stick out and my arms have shrunk but my thighs are massive and people still ask if I'm pregnant. When I've lost before I've exercised more but currently got torn rotator cuff and strained ankle so cant!

rabbitwoman · 21/11/2024 13:22

I have lost a couple of stone recently, not through injections but I have struggled for years and years with my weight and I haven't weighed this little for 20 years!!

I am finding that I have to clean my belly button now. I guess it used to be much more pronounced, but now it's a bit more buried it collects grime. Weird!!

BookishType · 21/11/2024 13:27

My wrists! Who knew I had fat wrists before, but a bracelet I never take off is falling down over my hand. I’ve noticed my engagement ring is twisting round, so my finger’s must’ve shrink too.

I can easily enclose my mid-thighs in my hands (a barometer of fatness for me), and with a great big gap. And my knees have reappeared after an unattractive period of resembling big potatoes.

It took the longest for my boobs to finally shrink (annoying as that’s where I wanted shrinkage) but they have reduced in size at last - and they have remained perky. I’d been a bit concerned that they’d droop.

HansHolbein · 21/11/2024 14:35

Well, my glasses are sliding off constantly!
