Breakfast ideas?

What do people tend to have for breakfast on MJ? I'm not hungry but wondering if I should try to eat anyway?

I usually have half of one of these, they're very filling and high in protein kvarg
Poached egg is also a good option, with half a slice of toast.

I often skipped breakfast before but try to have something these days. Sometimes I'll make up a banana, berry & Greek yoghurt smoothie and add protein powder as I never get enough protein. Drinking is easier than eating sometimes.

I use 1/2 banana, 100g Greek yoghurt, 50g berries plus the protein powder and however much water it needs.

I've not seen those before but I really like Quark so might get some in!

I like a protein shake or yogurt for breakfast. I can grab it from the fridge and eat it at work once I'm more hungry.

Problem is that I've been limiting UPF foods for the last year and try to limit the number of additives etc in my food. I don't eat artificial sweeteners and haven't for years as I hate the taste.

So many of the protein shakes and skyr/quark yogurts have got sweetener.

I've discovered these BOL shakes https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/316648332. My favourite is vanilla but they don't have it at Tesco. Lots of added vitamins as well.

I also love these protein yogurts and pouches. Not too many added nasties.

I also make my own with a plain unflavoured whey protein powder, milk, kefir, agave syrup and frozen strawberries. Delicious and 33g of protein!

I just had a cheesecake protein yoghurt. And a coffee.

lovely and boosts the daily protein.

I don't have breakfast, just tea and coffee in the morning.
I don't get hungry so don't see the point in having calories I don't need.
I then have lunch about 1 and dinner between 6 and 7. Sometimes have a small snack of fruit at 4 ish.
I have had some success on 16:8 fasting before so it was easy to roughly follow this again without being so strict, as I do now have milk in my drinks in the morning.

2 sesame seed ryvita spread with with sugar free peanut butter. Large boiled egg. 2 satsumas. I really focus on nutrition as I want my body well nourished for when I stop.

Go and have a read of the ‘What I eat in a day’ thread for more ideas but I am the scrambled egg queen!

MsRumpole · 17/11/2024 13:14

In the end I had two scrambled eggs on one piece of sourdough. I'm finding so far that I vaguely want to graze, but it's very limited and very much protein and wholegrain/veggie based. It's hard to tell whether this is because the MJ has got to work or whether it's because I'm just motivated to eat well. But there's a whole cake that I baked yesterday sitting on the island, and I had one half of a small slice about four hours ago with no urge to cut another since. And that is definitely not my usual style.

I’ve been having Dorset nutty muesli with plain greek yogurt and blueberries. Very high fibre.

Redlightbulb · 17/11/2024 18:21

Porridge or toast. When I am not that hungry I tend to go for toast.
If you are really not hungry tbh I wouldn't bother eating breakfast.. as long as you are getting in your calories for the rest of the day.
