The online pharmacies will prescribe for you, you don’t need to see your own doctor. Most will inform your doctor for their records. Read through some of the threads, there are lots of links to current prices with different pharmacies. I am on my 4th pen and paid around £130 for each one. Boots is a bit pricier I think.

Thank you. Yes I did this for my first pen - used an online pharmacy but going forward would prefer to get from boots. But I don't want to use their support etc for which they charge more - just the prescription if that makes sense?

Just go to med express or someone, loads of codes for £40 off.

boots is one of the most expensive i think. Is there a reason why you want to use Boots? is it because you can collect or something?
If not, then I would go for one of the others Med Express, Oushk, Zava etc..

you can collect from Asda too, but again they are pricy.

SilenceInside · 14/11/2024 21:48

Surely that's one of the most expensive ways to get it? The cost of getting the private prescription from a private doctor and then the full price of the medication from Boots pharmacy, I think they'll probably charge you the full price of the pen as per what they quote on their website, even though you aren't actually signed up with them.

What's the reason for wanting to use Boots?

Hi everyone just fyi I went to see a private doctor who prescribed it for me (I'm covered by insurance through work so no cost to me)

I then took the prescription to boots and it's only 110 pounds for 5mg pen (cheaper for 2.5 fyi) which is half the price of what you would pay if you go online via the boots pharmacy!!!
