Mounjaro and pre-existing thyroid problems

Has anyone tried Mounjaro if you have thyroid problems? It’s been found to cause thyroid cancer but that was in rodents. I have thyroid nodules so think Mounjaro is a bad idea but am desperate to lose weight. Anyone has a similar situation and were you able to get any good advice ?

I think you’d probably need to speak to your Dr or maybe try and get a prescription via a prescribing pharmacy.

I only say this as my mum has an underactive thyroid and when we were completing the online forms the first time around it didn’t ask whether you had any thyroid disorder; only asked whether there was a family history of medullary thyroid cancer (off the top of my head, I think that was the name) whereas subsequent requests they were wanting to know ‘do you have an existing thyroid condition’.

You must ask your doc and in any case she/he would have to know to follow your health.

Thank you both, I think I do need to speak to the GP
