Bloating and side effects

Sorry I this has been covered, I find the big threads a bit overwhelming.

I’ve gone up to 5mg on Sunday.

I feel so bloated it’s uncomfortable. I’m slightly constipated and feel a little sick.
my diet is good but I’m not drinking enough water so I’ll get onto that.

I take omeprazole as I take naproxen.

Can anyone recommend anything for the above symptoms please? I have peppermint capsules which don’t seem to be very effective.

I have been using FyboCalm which seems to have helped. There are probably other cheaper OTC treatments, but I use these because they are vegetarian. Lots of other products use gelatin capsules, Wind-eze for example.

@SilenceInside that’s helpful, thanks, I’d be looking for a veggie option too. I hadn’t thought of that.

It will ease as you progress. Make sure you drink enough fluid. I like to eat a few prunes for breakfast. I also eat dried fruit if I need a snack when I'm at the gym.

I take inulin in my coffee - adds fibre and a pre-biotic. Eating very clean (no bad fats, less carbs) helps me. Over the counter and supermarket laxatives can relieve temporary constipation but obviously not for long term use. Others advise staying on 2.5mg if working or going to 3.75mg - but this is based on experience and not manufacturer recommendations. The jump from 2.5 to 5 is the single biggest jump in terms of proportion (doubling) and many find it a bit challenging.

@unsync thank you, it’s massively eased today so fingers crossed

@dcbgr thanks. Unfortunately 2.5 wasn’t working come week 3 so I needed to up the dose.
I’ll deffo watch my diet and look at inulin

I'm on Mounjaro and had never had constipation in my life until I got to 7.5. I started adding two spoonfuls of chia seeds to my yoghurt and it's not happened since and I'm back to regular.

@ViolaPlains thanks for the tip!

Physillum husks is what I’ve found best for constipation (which is likely causing the bloating). On days when I’m eating breakfast I pop a couple when taking my usual multivitamin, and I really notice the difference

@EBoo80 thanks. I did wonder what bloat actually is iykwim! Wind and constipation?! It’s eased now thankfully but I’ll look at the physillium husks, thanks
