Massive plateau but I made it

Sorry to boast but I have to tell someone...as of today I am no longer overweight with a BMI of 25.

BUT boy has it gone in fits and starts. I lost the first 4kg easily early doors, probably like many on this board. I was no longer obese but merely overweight, elated!

Then for a whole MONTH, not a sausage. Then a slow crawl of literally grams a week for two months. I nearly gave up.

But the last few weeks it's cracked up a gear and today I made it.

So when they tell you that you'll plateau, don't despair, persevere, you're not alone!

That's actually really helpful to hear.

Delighted for you that you've reached a significant milestone.

Congratulations. You are an inspiration.

Awe thank you.

I naively thought I would do 3 months before I started, clearly needs to be six.

Thanks for this. I'm currently in a plateau and feeling disheartened! Needed to hear this.

The body is a strange beast indeed. And I guess as we age it gets harder to adjust to change. When in my twenties I could drop a kilo or two simply by eating less in the evening. Not so now!

Was there anything in particular that you did to get over the plateau? I'm stuck and it is starting to get to me.

Summerhillsquare · 11/11/2024 07:50

Stopped weighing myself, hence my surprise at the weekend because my GP app had promoted me. I can't actually see the loss anymore!

I really wanted MJ as a break from the norm to improve my eating habits. I must admit it's not gone as well as I'd hoped, but I kept trying to eat 3 small balanced meals a day, basically.

Boast away! Well done!

Congratulations, that's brilliant news.

Thanks. Interestingly, hit another plateau now, despite going up a dose. Boy does the body really want to hold on to fat! I wonder if it's more pronounced in the winter?
