Mounjaro just stopped working

I know the obvious answer is to move up.

I've been on 2.5mg for 7 weeks and it's worked brilliantly so didn't feel the need to move up (have got a 5mg pen but been taking 2.5 a week)

But took my last injection Thursday morning and just nothing.

Gone from fantastic suppression to none.

But my question is do I have to wait till Thursday now to start 5mg.

Have gained 1lb already and just feeling nothing.

I think it’s too soon to take 5mg after 2.5 on Thursday. Maybe top it up with another 2.5?

Take another 2.5 on Thursday?

Sorry I would wait until Thursday and move up then. Try and up your exercise for these few days, use it as practice for when you eventually have to come off it.

The guidance says to leave 4 days between doses minimum. So take 2.5 tomorrow to tide you over, then move up to 5 on Thursday. Or possibly 3.75 or 4 on Thursday because you’ll still have some in your system, then move up to 5 the following week.

I have been on 3.75mg for 19 weeks.

I moved from 2.5mg to 3.75mg just because I had bought a starter pack and was using it as a step up to 5mg, but then the more posts I read and the more I reflected on how my body was reacting I realised I really wanted to stay on lower doses as long as possible and not knee jerk react to a few days.

Now I calorie count. I have some weeks where suppression is low and I need to engage will power, then it kicks back in the following week which gives me relief from having to constantly fight food cravings long term which is what is the struggle for me.

I plan to stay on lower dose until it isn't giving me any suppression for 2-3 weeks as I feel I could short term push through those weeks. I judge my decision on suppression not weight loss, but I have still lost every week, sometimes only 1lb, which is not a lot for me as I am a higher weight (I am in menopause so don't have monthly cycle weight changes to consider).

Absolutely, move up if you feel that is the right thing for you, just sharing my approach.

I did 5 weeks on 2.5mg including bonus, but suppression went after first 3 weeks, then 3.75mg last week, but I've still been hungry on that so I added 1.25mg after 4 days on 3.75mg, will do 5mg tomorrow on injection day. I was worried about side effects so didn't want to go on 5mg immediately. You can add an extra 2.5mg but I would wait a few days so it's 2 x 2.5mg in a week.

If you want to move up to 5, you could take another 2.5 tomorrow, then move to 5mg from Thursday (your usual injection day).

Levels of mounjaro in your body should then look like this plot.

Of course, if you want to move to less than 5mg, say 3.75 like @WeAllHaveWings is taking, I would reduce tomorrow's dose to 1.5mg and then move to 3.75 from your usual injection day. The your chart would look like this.

I find I have good & bad suppression days, but they don't always line up against mounjaro levels! But then, pre-medication, I had hungrier days than others, so I figure that's just showing through. I do similar to WeAllHaveWings and assess it on a weekly basis - if I have 2 weeks with days where I'm really struggling with hunger and the snacks are calling, I'll increase dose.
