Private blood tests for monitoring on mounjaro?

I’ve been on mounjaro since May. I’m at goal weight now and want to maintain. I’m happy to stay on it as I’m seeing a lot of benefits not just the weight loss. I sleep better, my cystic acne has gone… As I buy online from curate I’d like to just pay to have some blood tests to check everything is ok? Can you pay at your gp surgery? I don’t live very close to any private surgeries

The NHS won't let you pay for a private blood test. You'd need to book it with a private service like Nuffield/Bupa etc or book a general health check where blood tests are part of the check.

How old are you? If you are 40-74 you are entitled to an NHS health check every five years, which includes bloods to check kidney and liver function, cholesterol, glucose, and a full blood count.

Go private. I had some tests before I started as eg I had no idea if I had any of the illnesses mentioned when you order. It was very informative. I happened to have seen Michael Mosley talk about the HBA1C test and did that. Also a dexa test because my MIL’s awful injuries with osteoporosis alarmed me. A few months after I come off mounjaro I’ll do another hba1c test to see how I’m doing.

I’m just 40 and did have the full check last month so I’m fine at the moment. All my levels were great. I was just thinking about going forwards
