Hi all,

I took my first dose of Mounjaro last Tuesday morning (29th Nov) of 2.5mg.

I’ve been well - not many side effects. Just felt a bit sick and off food. I’ve been eating healthy and exercising and I have lost 4lbs. It’s great.

I went to the GP last Friday who prescribed me with Propranolol (for migraines) and Nitrafurantoin for UTI.

I told my Dr that I have started Mounjaro and if the above prescriptions will clash or cause any issues, but she said to ask the Mounjaro provider.

I purchased from Asda - pricey but I heard their support and after care is good so went with them.

I used the online Message a Doctor system, but I have not had a reply yet.

I just don’t know what to do with my new prescriptions now. I haven’t taken them, but I have taken Mounjaro again today for my second injection.

Should I go back to the GP? Or should I just take my medicine and pray I don’t get seriously ill 😥

Please advise. TIA.

I honestly would have thought your doctor should have checked before issuing a prescription!

You could check here whilst waiting for your pharmacist to get back to you. I personally wouldn’t risk taking any other medication without knowing if it was safe though.

The online messaging system can take 2 to 3 days to respond to a message so I guess it depends when you messaged them? I wouldn't take the new medications until you get a response from Asda tbh just in case.

I'm on MJ and take propranolol for anxiety symptoms (GAD diagnosis). It works fine with it and know a few others who've posted the same. I don't know about the other meds, sorry.

I know there's a website where you post your medications and see which interacts badly with the other. I can't find that information now. So I guess you'll have to wait for their response.

Honestly - that’s what I thought too. But she was adamant that my Provider would advise best. Very confusing.

I messaged last Friday. So I’m hoping I get the response hopefully today the latest?

I’m just a bit concerned about the UTI - drinking lots of water but it’s very uncomfortable. I will hold on a bit longer and if I don’t get a response then will try GP (hopefully will get a different Dr to advise).

The prescribing GP or pharmacist should have answered this question before prescribing or dispensing.

Thank you - that’s reassuring!

Today I have had really bad case of eggy burps - I feel sick.

This week has been awful with side effects.

Im hoping that now I can take my medication for UTI - at least I can have relief from that.
