@Fizzleaway1 i asked in the office the other day if anyone ate the skin on a kiwi and to be fair they all looked at me as though i had 2 heads ๐Ÿ˜‚ itโ€™s just so much easier than peeling and iโ€™m all about the shortcuts!

HansHolbein · 13/11/2024 19:07

Not sure if I can put a hairy kiwi ballsack in my mouth but I can try!

UtterlyQuackers · 13/11/2024 19:23

I'm with @HansHolbein in regards to them being hairy nuts sacks. I've tried and it's not for me ๐Ÿคฃ

UtterlyQuackers · 13/11/2024 19:29

@littleburn and @MissSmith80 I emailed MedExpress asking about their price match before ordering and sent them a link to the other website and a screen shot and they credited my account before I ordered. It then takes it off when you go to the checkout.

Edited

Thank you. That's good to know. I'm not too worried as I'll use the credit anyway but good to know they will apply it before the purchase.

littleburn · 13/11/2024 20:00

@MissSmith80 @UtterlyQuackers that great, thank you both!

Made me LOL ๐Ÿ˜‚ itโ€™s actually really tasty - the ones I have at the moment arenโ€™t really hairy! Also, really good for you - most of the nutrients and all if the fibre is in the skin.

Forgive my ignorance in the questions I'm about to ask:
About to order second pen.
If I go for 2.5, could I (if I felt I needed to) take 3.75 and order Pen 3 earlier than a month. (I mean, would they let me have one earlier)
If I go for the 5.0 pen, would I have the option to keep on 2.5 with it whereby it would last for twice as long (2 months). I could then up the dose over the next month if I find suppression fading.

It would mean you are using it against advice to discard after 30 days, I would be happy going a few days over but not 4 weeks over..
I think most places the 2.5 and 5 are the same price so i would get the 5 and if you have to waste some its not like you wasted money.
If you take 2.5 out of the 5 pen you will get 5 weeks within 30 days and obv more if your a risk taker! lol

What does indigestion pain feel like? Not heartburn (know what that is). But Iโ€™ve had a mild throbbing pain in my upper abdomen right side that occasionally moves lower down past my belly button. Itโ€™s very very mild and comes and goes and is more a niggling pain than really painful. If I wasnโ€™t on MJ I probably wouldnโ€™t be even thinking on it, but of course weโ€™re always advised to watch out for any abdominal pain due to gallstones/pancreatitis. Itโ€™s been accompanied by horrendous wind and burps (not sulphur burps just regular ones) and slight diarrhoea. I have reached out to my prescriber who just said gastrointestinal side effects like wind and indigestion can be very normal but to contact my GP if I experience severe abdominal pain - mine isnโ€™t severe at all! Iโ€™ve only had the symptoms since Monday and itโ€™s only today Iโ€™ve started to think it could be MJ related, as on Monday I tripped over my sonโ€™s step in the kitchen and twisted my back and side trying to stop myself going flat on my face! So initially put the pain down to that, but itโ€™s not really feeling like a muscle strain.

I was due my first dose of 5mg tonight but I havenโ€™t taken it as was waiting to hear back from my prescriber and now I feel no further forward as they didnโ€™t really give me a direct answer, just copied and pasted what Iโ€™d already read on their website. Debating calling my GP tomorrow anyway but donโ€™t want to be laughed out the door for taking up an appointment for indigestion ๐Ÿ˜‚

ChimneyRock · 13/11/2024 23:14

People who are on 3.75mg, are you taking that from a 2.5 pen or a 5 pen. And if it's the 5, doesn't that take you over the 30 days?
As does getting a 5th dose out of any of the pens.
Does the 30 day thing start from as soon as it arrives? Or from your first dose? Someone on here (maybe another thread) said they'd had theirs in the fridge for a month, unused, as they fell ill just before starting. Does that mean it's un-usable?

morbidcuriosity · 13/11/2024 23:49

@ChimneyRock most people would be taking it from a 5 cos otherwise it would use up the 2.5 too quickly.
Once you receive your pen in the post or pick up from pharmacy you put it in your fridge and the from the 1st time you use it its 30 days from there. and once you start you can keep it anywhere, chest of drawers etc.
ive got 2 in my fridge now a 5 and a 7.5 ready, they are dated till sept and nov 2025 so lots of time left, but once i start one i will have 30 days to use it.
or as i said before i would risk maybe 1 more week, 1 more jab out of it.

i think it may be something to do with the more times you are breaking the sea to administer a dose the more chance of bacteria getting in, dont know for sure though.

littleburn · 14/11/2024 01:44

@ChimneyRock taking a 5th dose takes you to day 29, as you'd be injecting on days 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29. So it still keeps you within the 30 days (from opening) window.

I see mnetters are using kiwi fruit to help with constipation and leaving the skin on. Does the skin taste OK?

Oh lord!! I tried this but was not for me lol. I can only liken it to a bush tucker trial from I'm a Celeb. The slightly furry texture and inability to chew it reminded me of when they eat a kanagrois penis or something, put me right off๐Ÿ˜‚

morbidcuriosity · 14/11/2024 06:02

I've got a friend who eats them like this for years.. always thought it was odd bit he told me to try it, still never have bit I may well try now.

ApolloandDaphne · 14/11/2024 07:34

I had my first experience of having that solid stone like feeling in my stomach yesterday. I took my DM out for a birthday lunch and as she doesn't know i am on MJ I ate quite a lot. It was only a sandwich lunch but it came with crisps, side salad and coleslaw. I ate it all then suffered all afternoon. I'm going out for lunch again on Saturday with her and have no idea how to handle it. It will be bar lunch type food. I've now really had to eat out up to now and I'm not loving it!

MontyJinks · 14/11/2024 08:12

Oohh, I LOVE a hairy ball sack ๐Ÿ˜‰ All those nutrients and goodness ๐Ÿ˜‹

TheOtherSide21 · 14/11/2024 08:26

I'm supposed to be out with work tonight so have done my 'official' weigh in a day early - 3.5lbs down this week taking my total loss to 34.25lbs. I haven't been this weight since summer 2021.

The losses are slowing but it's been around 3lbs the last two weeks and I can definitely tolerate a consistent circa 3lbs per week loss!

I am due my first dose of 7.5mg on Saturday. Wonder if I'll get any side effects this time...

JustKeepsBreathing · 14/11/2024 08:29

@TheOtherSide21 wow thatโ€™s an amazing loss ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Talking about kiwis, have you tried the golden kiwis from Sainsburys? They are divine, skin and all!!

I am weighing in 2 days early today as I am down to London tomorrow morning for the Stranger Things stageshow and staying overnight. I will take my MJ a day early today. It will be week 2 on 5mg so as I have had a teeny bit of nausea last week I thought I would give myself a day at home .

Results are in
SW 15st 1
LW 14st 7
CW 14st 4.6 (200.6 lbs )
First goal 199lbs
GW 8 st

I am 2.4lbs down in 6 days and feeling much happier after nearly chucking it all in last week. Thank you all for your support xxxxx
1st week on 5mg went well, not as much suppression as I thought, which is probably a good thing as I still have to use some will power. I had lunch out yesterday and it was a smaller plate lunch of filled yorkshire pudding and I couldn't manage it all. I had lemon tart for pudding but didn't enjoy it. Constipation is back so I will up the psyllium capsules to 2.

Haha at Monytyjinks comment, though made me feel quite queasy for some reason๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜‚
Am 58, on HRT and menopausal. Lost 14lb in 3 weeks, conscious a lot of that is water weight but feel great in myself with much less joint aches and pains.

Eating 80-100g protein a day.
Continuing weight training and lots of walking as worried that research shows if you don't will lose muscle mass, which
would be a disaster to me as the less muscle we have less calories we burn.
Read somewhere research shows HRT accelerates weight loss by 30% if taking weight loss injections.

@EVK HRT was the best thing ever for my anxiety and stopped me being awake half the night. Though unfortunately my GP at the time didnt make it easy to obtain. Hopefully now with the latest NICE guidance it will be easier to get.

Hello ladies,

I started on MJ 8 Oct. Did the 2.5 dose for 4 weeks and have been up to 5 for the last 2 weeks. I'm feeling like there's so much less appetite suppression on the 5mg and my weight loss has practically stopped! Has anyone else found this? I've got at least another 4 stone to lose (I'm 5'3). Not due to weigh in until next week but I can already tell I've put on weight!

SW 15 6
CW 14.10.5

Wk 1 -3.5lb
Wk 2 -2
Wk 3 -3
Wk 4 -0.5
Wk 5 -0.5

It's horrible isn't it! I have had soup the last couple of times I've been out for lunch of that is an option? With the weather getting colder it's also a good reason for 'just fancying soup' of she does question it.

HansHolbein · 14/11/2024 09:50

@EVK Iโ€™m going to get some tomorrow and try.. will get them from M&S.. hoping they will be less ballsack like? We can all eat hairy ballsacks this week!

@Gilly1C ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

@ApolloandDaphne A nice salad for you on Sat! I love coleslaw ๐Ÿ˜‹

@TheOtherSide21 Amazing! Well done! You must feel so much better. Happy for you.

@IlovetoKnitandRead As we have heard.. apparently hairy ballsack kiwis are good for constipation! Have a lovely night away and enjoy the show. Great loss, well done.

@Bluenose1966 Great to read your update and so happy for you that itโ€™s going well!

@Froggie13 Hi Frog, annoying as it is, a loss is a still a loss. Iโ€™m sure Iโ€™ve rest that between .5/2lbs is a good loss per week. We donโ€™t want to lose too quickly. I know itโ€™s annoying though. Are you tracking? Maybe the next few days track everything you eat just to keep on top of it? Iโ€™m sure there will be weeks that we all stall or plateau or have small losses. But this time we are going to keep going!

On every single diet Iโ€™ve ever been on I always have a a very small loss for a few weeks after Iโ€™ve started a diet. I wonder if the body is saying โ€˜nope! We are holding onto this! Sod off!โ€™. It always starts again though. Iโ€™m waffling now!

@ItsMintUpNorth Yes soup! Always a good choice. I know it usually comes with bread but you could break a few bits off and put it in the soup. Looks like youโ€™re eating more that way?!
