Side effects - or sick?!

I am (I think!) 15 weeks in on Mounjaro. I started at 2.5mg, and have increased to next dose every 4 weeks. I am now at 10mg and have not suffered any side effects.

I took 2nd 10mg dose on Tuesday before last. The following Saturday (after a meal out btw) I was up half the night with a painful, upset stomach. Not completely liquid (TMI, sorry), but quite explosive. Every since then my stomach is awful. Every two hours or so (day and night sadly) I have a pain (not severe, but uncomfortable) in lower belly, and then have to RUSH to the toilet, and the explosions have continued. I took 3rd 10mg dose last Tuesday.
I also have very stinky sulphurous burps! They taste and smell awful.

I have a call to the GP and waiting for them to get back to me, but that can be up to 72 hours.

If Ive had no side effects up till the 2nd 10mg dose, do you think the upset stomach is more likely illness related, or are these side effects that have waited till now?

I really really dont want to have to come off Mounjaro as its been pretty life changing for me (NHS prescription from Endocrinologist due to benign adrenal tumours) all round. But, I cant live with having to rush to the toilet every 2 hours for painful loose bowel movements!

Was the meal out something you haven't typically been eating over the last few months on Mounjaro? It may be that what you ate hasn't fared well with the slower digestion, hence the sulphurous burps and the stomach pain.

It was prawn cocktail and steak and salad, so nothing unusual, or fried.

I am really worrying about having to come off Mounjaro - not for the weight loss, but it has helped with brain fog, with cortisol levels, my mental health, my sleep. Its pretty much been a miracle drug for me.

How many days have the symptoms been happening - more than a week now, or have I misunderstood?

Yes, more than a week. 8 days. Started 4 days after my 2nd 10mg dose.

Oh, that's a long time to be dealing with that. Could you contact the pharmacy that you get the prescription fulfilled from and ask them for advice, rather than waiting up to 3 days for a GP appointment?

I suppose it could have been dodgy prawns, exacerbated by the effects of Mounjaro slowing digestion down, plus also being at the higher dose for a second week.

I recommend contacting the pharmacy too
