Mounjaro through Asda pharmacy

I just have a question please if you don't mind.

I placed my order last Tuesday, submitted my photos last Wednesday. I still haven't heard anything. Does it usually take this long?

Do I have to wait this long every month?

I hear people ordering from elsewhere and it's cheaper but I don't know which website to trust.

I'm new to this so any tips would be great.

I should say my BMI is way above 30 so I don't really have doubts that I wouldn't be accepted.

I use Asda and have done since July. The photos need to be approved by a doctor which takes longer than just re-ordering.

When you submit the photos it does say that it can take 2-3 days to respond to messages, I would expect your order to be approved on Monday.

Presumably you are over the BMI requirements and the photos you uploaded show that clearly?

For future reference any online pharmacy that is GPhC registered and CQC registered is going to be fine to order from. Have a look at these comparison sites which show pharmacies that are all registered:

Hi, thank you for your reply!

Yes. I'm just over 19 stone so I meet the requirements and took my photos of me on the scales with the date and the other requested photos. Hopefully I hear back tomorrow as I'm keen to get started.

Thanks for the other information.

Can I ask how you are getting on? Have you lost much and how are you finding the side effects?

OP posts:

In general I'm getting on fine with it. I was 22st when I started, and found that I had an immediate effect from the first injection day. That is not something that is expected though, as the first month of 2.5mg is meant to be getting used to the medication not necessarily losing weight with it. So I've been losing weight since the first week, and I am now 16st 12lbs. I am fully expecting the rate of weight loss to slow down as my weight gets lower. I also really don't want to suggest that my weight loss is typical or expected.

I had some gastric issues at around 6 weeks on the second week or so of 5mg, but I do think I ate something dodgy as well which was exacerbated by the effects of the Mounjaro. It only lasted a couple of days. I have stuck with the 7.5mg dose for the rest of the time as I have not had any side effects and it is working well for me. Almost too well as the suppression can be quite strong for the first couple of days after injecting. I definitely don't need to move up to the 10mg yet, and I won't until I find the 7.5mg isn't working for me.

I use Asda and this sounds normal for your first order, as a doctor has to view your photos and information and approve your prescription first. It can take 3 working days for them to do this. Asda also say that if not approved or dispatched by 4pm on a Friday then it’ll be the Monday, so I’d imagine you’ll hear today. I ordered mine on a Wednesday evening and submitted photos, but they weren’t viewed or approved till the Monday. It was delivered to my local pharmacy by the Tuesday for me to pick up.

I’d imagine future orders will be quicker as you don’t need to submit photos every time. I’ve just ordered my next pen last Friday so hoping I’ll hear today or tomorrow. Asda do advise you order your next pen 2 weeks in advance however, to allow for any unforeseen issues. So once you’ve took your third jab you should start to think about the next order. Better to have it early than needed than it coming late!

Edited to add: just checked my emails after I typed this and it’s been dispatched and will be ready to pick up tomorrow! So very quick considering I ordered it after hours on Friday.

I’m also ASDA - but mine was faster. However, I have heard theough these threads ASDA are slowing down a little, I assume due to demand! But never had a problem getting approved or receiving a dose.

You'll be fine. Read the instructions carefully. Have you a plan for how to deal with your eating and exercise? It really helps to get something in place. Be prepared that you might not lose huge amounts in the first weeks. That's quite normal.

I use an app to track my calorie intake. It's important to eat enough and to get the balance right too. It's easy to eat to little which is not good for your body. I've lost about 25 kg since end March and I exercise regularly. My blood pressure has gone down, my breathing is better and I have a lot more stamina.

Just take it steady, ask if you have any questions and you'll be fine.

I’m with Asda and I’ve been very pleased with them. I recently saw photos from my heaviest and I was blown away. At that time my fat percentage was 44% and it’s now 29.9% 😳 Have about a stone left to lose. Amazing drug!

Where do you pick it up from ? Is it asda pharmacy within an asda supermarket? I had mine delivered but would rather pick it up myself

I have found asda to be terrible. I know there is an issue going on, but they keep changing the date and messing me around, which has gone on for two weeks and I cant even cancel it. will be out of the country now when it comes- so no good for me. If anyone can see how I cancel online please help! I can only seem to find a telephone centre that involves a wait time of 201 mins or a message that doesn't get reviewed for 3 to 5 days. You'd think when the extended the date over 14 days after already keeping me waiting 10 days then they'd just cancel anyways. Never using asda again that's for sure.

I’ve had orders in with both Asda and Zava (who fulfill orders for Asda) and the repeated delays. My order on the 16th with Asda is finally arriving at the pharmacy on Saturday allegedly. To be honest, I thought I was going to be away for one of my deliveries and since it fell outside of the original due date by a week, I was thinking I’d go down the credit card chargeback route. I know you probably just want your pen, but at these prices I personally wouldn’t just accept it sitting on my doorstep for 2 weeks

Amanda30uk · 28/08/2025 17:54

I ordered through both asda and zava . My asda one has been approved, supposed to arriving tomoro . Still waiting for my zava one approving but I think they will cancel it as I ordered the 4 days apart and I read somewhere that they wont supply more unless its 3 weeks apart
