Feeling rough

Have a headache, feel dizzy and sick, tummy a bit iffy, heart racing. Is this normal after your very first dose?

Wasn't expecting to feel this awful and if I could wind back the clock 24 hours I wouldn't take MJ again.

Is this likely to pass or is this the way I'll feel from now on?

If you read a lot of people's experience on MJ as well as the leaflets and patient information before starting, you'll know that it's normal to feel 'rough' for some people and it should pass. No one can really tell what would happen as it varies from person to person.

You'll also know that you should get some OTC meds to help you along with these symptoms. Meds for nausea, diarhhoea, constipation, unpleasant burps ("sulphur burps"), stomach cramps.

If you start feeling really ill or are having heart palpitations, it's sensible to call 111 or speak to the pharmacist that prescribed Mounjaro to you or go to your GP.

Thank you. I did read all of the stuff, I just didn't think I'd be one to suffer from side effects.

I'm drinking plenty of water so I just hope it passes soon.

It definitely does pass. I felt awful in the first month and then nothing until the highest dose.

I have felt ill every time I have increased dose. Usually nausea and diarrhoea. I get the sulphur burps if I eat any red meat so avoid that now.

On the other hand, I have now lost 3 stone! So overall it has been worth it!
