Hi experts,

if I used an insulin needle, how do I count 3,75ml from the (second) 2,5ml pen, is this 9ml on the syringe please, and if you do the hard twist instead can you still count clicks?

thanks

A dose from any pen is 0.6ml so 0.6ml from a 2.5mg pen will be 2.5mg. If you want 3.75mg from a 2.5mg pen then you need to multiply the 0.6ml by 1.5 which gives you 0.9ml.

Please make sure you work out the maths for yourself and don't get confused between the dosage in mg and the amount of liquid in ml. And make sure you know what amount the insulin syringe holds in total and what the marker lines on the syringe mean.

Can't help with the hard twist to break the lock mechanism as I've not tried to do this.

It's 0.9ml.

Not 9ml OP! but I get what you meant.

Thank you both. It is this needle , so I think to thr 90 mark.

i prefer to try the hard twist, but i am not sure if it free wheels if you do it, so you don’t know how much you’re getting, or if it still clicks.,

Yes it freewheels after the hardtwist and you will not be able to count clicks. It will also give you the standard 0.6ml dosage because it will get to 1 and stop like the way it does with the other doses. So if you're looking to get more from it then you'll need the insulin syringe.

Ok thank you that’s very useful.
