Moving on from 2.5mg

I’ve just received my second pen and I ordered 5mg. I had hoped to stick to 2.5 for 2/3 pens but the suppression is more of less non-existent now at 2 days away from my 5th dose. I was also hoping to use the bonus dose but think I definitely need to move up.

Is it a good idea to try 3.75mg to begin with or would it be recommended to go straight to 5mg as there’s no suppression just now and food noise is back.

If 2.5mg has stopped working for you, then yes it's recommended you should go up the next dose 5mg. The only reason to ease your way in by using 3.75mg or so instead is if you're having a hard time with the 2.5mg in regards to side effects. If you're otherwise okay, then just go up to 5mg dose as recommended and see how your body handles it afterwards.

If you're afraid of potential side effects of 5mg (you shouldn't be but some people are), then I suppose you can try to ease yourself into the 5mg dose with 3.5mg or so and see how you feel. You can stay on it if it's working for you.

Honestly I think if 3.75mg was an appropriate dose, they’d sell pens in that strength. There’s likely some research into why 5mg is the next step up and why they don’t offer in between doses.

I think it’s best not to complicate things - you don’t need to micro-dose. I think it only makes sense to try 3.75mg if you have experienced poor side effects. Other than the food suppression, how did you get on with 2.5mg?

I'd just go up to 5mg

I was on 2.5 for 6 weeks, been on 3.75 for last 2 still got supression but some hunger as think this helps to get into good habits.
I will remain on this until feel the need to go up as little side affects atm. No harm in going up slowly you can always increase it I did 2.5 then day later added the extra to make it 3.75 altogether.

I got on fine mainly with 2.5mg. A bit nausea after the first couple of doses. Bad diarrhoea day after second dose. But overall fine for first 2.5 weeks and then the hunger and food noise came back.
