Hello,

I'm sure this question has been asked to death, however I'm new here, so please forgive me.

I'd like to start Mounjaro after reading threads on here and watching numerous success stories on Tik Tok. I'm around 122kg and short so morbidly obese and very very unhappy.

I'm married but my relationship is in the toilet and I really don't want to discuss this with my husband. Has anyone started this but kept it secret? I can order from a collection pharmacy or from a provider that lets me choose my delivery day (I am home on my own some days of the week). I eat by myself and cook for myself most days anyway so I'm confident he wouldn't notice any changes here and he barely notices me anyway. So I think my only issues would be dealing with any side effects privately and hiding the pen in the fridge.

Has anyone else had any experience of doing this without any real life support please? I really don't want anyone to know, but particularly not my husband.

Any advice/stories really welcome!

Does the wegovy pen need stored in fridge between doses?
My husband is very against weight loss injections and thinks I just need to “ do more exercise”. Iv 5stone to lose!

I've not told anyone. I hid the pen in a box of lettuce until I needed to use it then my knicker drawer. Voy let you pick a delivery date. Their sharps box is small.

I'm a bit stressed about DH noticing the box when it arrives as it's quite big but I order loads is stuff and he generally pays no heed!! I can say it's a Christmas present for the kids.

No, they are fine out of the fridge after the first use.

I keep mine in an empty 1Kg tub of Stork margarine and have a full tub above it... I am the only one who bakes and so far nobody has disturbed the tub... I have not told a soul and almost certainly never will.

i discussed it with mine months ago - generally I was saying I had been reading about this drug. She said she thinks it sounds awful. So I haven’t told her - it’s only been a week. I’ve been seeing her over a year and tbh found weighing in etc stressful so we don’t do that now, despite her best efforts, we just focus on strength.

As others have said the pen is easy to hide. I’m not sure how I’ll reorder as we have a joint bank account that we both get paid into. I have a small amount of savings that aren’t easy to access.

Mine is stored in an old handbag at the top of my wardrobe…

He’s been very supportive and not judgemental at all. He’s been great in helping me focus on eating the best in terms of nutrition and what my body needs to function, when I have a very suppressed appetite. He’s also helped me tailor my training to match a smaller diet. His view on any diet is that there are five key areas - sleep, hydration, exercise, low stress and a balanced diet, and that should always be the bedrock, even when there are injections in the mix. Being on ozempic made it easy for me to eat crap and still lose weight but he got me off that path and on to looking at food as fuel and being healthy while losing weight.

@Everyreason he sounds brilliant. I’m sure your work together will set you up for success when maintenance comes.

I have been on it since May and I haven't told a soul and I won't do until I've finished with it.

There's so much negativity about it and I don't want anybody upsetting my mindset and making me doubt my decision.

I didn't mention it to my husband at the start and I kept it in the fridge and he didn't even notice.

I have told him now but one else. It's no one else's business

I've told a couple of friends but that's it. One is now on it herself and the other is planning on starting soon.

I've gone back and forth about whether to be honest with other people but I'm not interested in opinions or judgement from them so I haven't bothered so far. I don't necessarily think they wouldn't be supportive but if they weren't then it would cause unnecessary conflict because I won't be changing my mind about using mounjaro.

I keep my pen in my make up fridge on my dressing table. No one is going to bother going in there and if they do it wouldn't be obvious it's medication because it sits on a shelf with other pen like things such as concealer and contouring tubes!

Ideally same day each week but there's some flexibility...

Missed doses

If a dose is missed, it should be administered as soon as possible within 4 days after the missed dose. If more than 4 days have passed, skip the missed dose and administer the next dose on the regularly scheduled day. In each case, patients can then resume their regular once weekly dosing schedule.

Changing the dosing schedule

The day of weekly administration can be changed, if necessary, as long as the time between two doses is at least 3 days.

Mounjaro may be stored unrefrigerated for up to 30 days at a temperature not above 30 ° C and then the pre-filled KwikPen must be discarded
