Pee smell

Has anyone else noticed their urine absolutely humm whilst using mounjaro.

The drug is excreted in urine so it makes sense, but bloody hell.

Not at all and haven't heard of this from anyone. You may want to get it checked out to give you the all-clear, just incase. Does it burn or anything else besides the smell? Any itch?

I think it's more likely that you're a bit dehydrated which makes wee more concentrated and smelly. If you've reduced what you're eating, you'll be missing a lot of the water normally found in food. I really doubt you're smelling the drug being secreted but worth increasing your fluid intake significantly (obviously rule out infections, eating asparagus, etc as well)

I agree, it sounds like you're dehydrated.

I'm not much of a water drinker but have really had to up my fluid intake as I was becoming dehydrated. Which as you probably know makes your wee smelly.

Is your wee running clear(ish)?

How much water do you drink and what colour is the wee? It should be a pale gold colour.

I've noticed the same and I'm definitely not dehydrated. No burning , itching or any other symptoms. Just a much stronger odour!

Sorry OP, not a thing here. Maybe it’s one of those things that some are more susceptible than others, like asparagus 🤷‍♀️

This afternoon I took a subsequent dose and I'm already noticing the smell come back.
At the risk of being graphic, it's almost semen like, really pungent.
I do react quite badly to asparagus too so I'm clearly one of those 🫣

Yes I am experiencing it now I am on 5mg of mounjaro , pnext week I will be on 7.5 mg . Had urine tested for infection but nothing . I drink plenty of water . I am diabetic and I have been prescribed mounjaro by my doctor and follow through by diabetic nurse .

No, however I drink about 3 litres of water a day, so I’d not expect any smell as I’m fully hydrated. Urine smell is stronger when it’s less diluted.

Yes! Both me and my neighbour started a week apart and we both have this symptom!

I actually found this page by searching if Mounjaro makes your urine or bowel movements smell "chemically". I have been noticing it for about the last 3 injections, and I am on the 5. I told my doctor, but like many other people, she said she had never heard of this. She is going to look into it, but it worries me. I am definitely not dehydrated, but have been many times, and it is not that kind of smell.

It’s actually a pretty common side effect, usually caused by concentrated urine from dehydration or your body being in ketosis while losing weight. I read it here you can check it for the full list of causes.
