Ordering mountjaro without photos

fatinfrance · 27/10/2024 19:54

Does anyone have a recommendation of where does and does not require photos when ordering mountjaro in the uk?

Also, I need to collect it from a pharmacy rather than have it delivered. Can I only do that if I order from Superdrug or boots? But I imagine they will be more rigorous? What happens when you pick it up, do they weigh you or anything??

You are likely to need to submit photos for all providers, why would you not want to do that? Providers have recently been reminded by the regulator to carry out proper checks to minimise abuse of the medication.

Grepes · 27/10/2024 19:58

You could make a private appointment, a lot of the Babylon or BUPA places do it and it’s pay as you go. It would be a face to face appointment so you wouldn’t need to send photos.

Dragonflysparkles · 27/10/2024 19:58

I don’t think any registered pharmacy does this without photos,

Darlinghag · 27/10/2024 19:59

Asda do pharmacy collection. Why no photos? Its not like they keep them or you need to look at them everytime you order?

Dragonflysparkles · 27/10/2024 20:00

Op, what you’re posting is concerning, not wanting photos or to be weighed indicates it’s possible you’re trying to get the Drugs when you’re not eligible.

you aren’t going to find anyone non dodgy who will give you the drugs with no photos, no photo of the scale and not notifying your doctor.

ButFirstCovfefe · 27/10/2024 20:01

There’s a reason they need to know your size. Do you qualify for it?

It would be best if they had to confirm weight in person/via doctors but pictures and trust is the next best thing. Is there a reason you don’t want to provide that?

Im on the borderline and I don't want to be turned down

I don't think you'll have options with not wanting photos and also wanting to collect. Asda, Boots, Superdrugs and maybe your local pharmacy? All do collection. I don't know about the photos part. Some may not ask for photos but they'll also ask for GP Details and vice versa, or both. They must do some proper checks one way or the other.

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/10/2024 20:03

Why don't you want photos

It makes you sound that your bmi is not over 30 so shouldn't be on this medication

Borderline in what way? You mean you don't qualify with your bmi?

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/10/2024 20:04

Ah crossed posts

So not 30

29 maybe

But if you are worried be turned down then you prob aren't overweight enough to use it

Op, it’s not going to happen. I don’t know if you’re really borderline but the fact you don’t even want them delivered to your house, so you don’t want the people living there to know, indicates you’re not remotely borderline and have a bigger problem.

fatinfrance · 27/10/2024 20:06

But isn't it interesting that plenty of people on this board have a target weight of 9 stone something and a BMI of under 23, yet if you weigh well above that to start with everyone is on their high horse about whether you're allowed it? I understand the eligibility rules but they don't actually make a lot of sense

OP posts:
SilenceInside · 27/10/2024 20:06

I think the need for collection is to do with the OP living in France at the moment, given the username. So couldn't have it delivered.

I very much doubt that, why would she wish them delivered to another country, cmon now. She’s obviously far from eligible and trying to obtain them fraudulently

Grepes · 27/10/2024 20:09

I don’t think they would be able to tell by a photo if you had a 31 bmi vs a 29 bmi. I’ve just gone down from 31 to 29 and look no different in photos. They don’t charge you if you’re rejected so there is no loss.

fatinfrance · 27/10/2024 20:09

Ok that is helpful thank you

Op,if you collect and you don’t look obese they will weigh you.

SilenceInside · 27/10/2024 20:10

The rules don't have to make sense, although they do in fact. It's based on research and the fact that the studies were only done on people with the qualifying BMI. The risks may be higher or different for those who are already not obese. The fact is it's unknown and unproven.

And it is the current system, there will always be someone below a hard cutoff.

You should not be surprised that people aren't keen to help someone get past the prescribing rules.

SilenceInside · 27/10/2024 20:10

@Dragonflysparkles because I think I recognise this poster from a previous thread about obtaining WLI in France.

I don't really understand this post besides the last sentence. Anyway, you either qualify or you don't. It's not about being on a high horse. It seems you may still try to find a way to get it dishonestly but don't expect people here to help you do that. We already get enough criticism as it is without encouraging deceit for this medication.

I agree. I’d rather start at a lower BMI, (still overweight) than have to wait until I gained more weight to start. If people can get it once they’ve hit a healthy BMI it can’t be dangerous to those with a lower BMI.

But why would she have them delivers to the uk? That’s a hell of a journey and she will need a uk address to order, irrelevant of the fact it’s collection. Plus if she walks in for the first order not looking obese they won’t hand them over.

Doubt it - you can collect other people’s prescriptions.

Can you do that with wli? I don’t think you can.
