Being cut off / changing providers

Hi there.

I have only just begun my journey with Mounjaro but plenty of weight to lose.
Got my first injection through Asda, but I have read today they cut people off once they get under the BMI of 30. Is this anyone’s experience?

This has made me wonder if I should be considering a different provider. How does it work if you want to change providers? Obviously I’m only on 2.5mg currently, is it best to change before moving up a dose?
Do you have to provide previous prescriptions or anything like that (that would make sense!)

This is probably a long way off but I want to make sure I am planning properly and won’t get myself in a mess further down the line.

Any advice / experience gratefully received. 😊

I'm with Asda, still a long way off a BMI of under 30, currently at around 39 from a starting point of 49.9. They should continue to prescribe till you are at a healthy BMI, so I would expect that to be till a BMI of 25 or less.

I'm going to reconsider when I get nearer to a BMI of 30, so when it's well under 35, and look at what other providers offer at that point. If Asda develops a maintenance programme by then I might stay with them, otherwise I will move whilst my BMI is higher than 30 to a provider that will continue to well within a healthy BMI.

You can show evidence of your current dosage level to a new provider, images of your current injection prescription label, or you could download the GP letter from the Asda website too. Most providers are set up to enable switching at any dosage as they want to attract the custom of people wanting to switch.

I've changed provider and just had to send a pic of my current box with the printout showing that I was on my current dose.

You can order from whichever prescriber you like each time. You just send a photo of your previous box that shows the label with your name and dose.
I've ordered from 3 different pharmacies so far.
