Impact of exercise on loss

I’ve been on Mounjaro for 8 full weeks now, today was my 9th injection. In that time I’ve lost 22.7lbs. I have 99lbs to get to my first target of 175lb. My biggest loss was in the second week, where I lost 5.1lbs. For the past 3 weeks I’ve been losing 2.2lbs consistently. I’m currently on 5mg and will be continuing on 5mg for the time being.

The losses I’ve had so far haven’t been with exercise, and I’m not always hitting 10k steps. I’m wanting to start to kick it up a notch now to see if this aids in my weight loss. I know 2.2lbs a week is a great amount, however I’d like to push myself for a fortnight and see the difference, as ideally I’d like to lose a little quicker. I just wondered for those of you who didn’t exercise from the off, what were your losses like once you included exercise? How often did/do you exercise?

Thank you in advance!

Honestly, I don't think it's made any difference to me! I've always been a daily dog walker and started adding in spin classes after a month or so on MJ. I now do 3 a week along with Pilates, yoga and pump.

Weight loss is still erratic😁 but I feel so much better and my energy levels are great!

I found that drinking LOADS of water had a significantly bigger impact on my MJ weight loss than exercise! But exercise is good for you anyway and has lots of other benefits so go for it 😊

I would be doing resistance training rather than cardio to reduce the muscle loss. If you loose too much muscle your metabolic rate will go down and when you come off the drugs it will be harder to maintain the weight loss. You ideally want slow and steady FAT loss not lean mass loss.
