Mounjaro - Late Onset Side Effects?

Hi all, I’ve been on Mounjaro since the start of July and am currently in my 5th week of 7.5mg. I’ve generally been happy with my progress, losing around 1-3 lbs a week, which I felt was a healthy and sustainable rate. I’ve always believed that the longer it takes to lose, the longer it stays off!

However, in the last couple of weeks, things have changed quite a bit. Since my last injection and this week’s, I’ve been dealing with pretty bad gastrointestinal issues, which I’ve never experienced before while on Mounjaro. On top of that, I’ve lost 11 lbs in just one week, which is much more than usual for me and has me a bit concerned.

Has anyone else experienced late onset side effects like this? I’m wondering if this is something that tends to happen at this stage or with the 7.5mg dose. Would love to hear if others have gone through something similar.

Hi @Itsmeamandaberry I'm at a similar stage to you, also started at the beginning of July and I'm currently on 7.5mg. I had something similar when I was on 5mg with a couple of days of bad gastric symptoms. I think a combination of what I ate and side effects. I used my first 7.5mg pen to titrate up from 5mg because I was worried about the side effects continuing. But I've not had a reoccurrence so far, no side effects at the moment on 7.5mg.

I get the occasional week where I lose 6,7,8,9 pounds usually followed by at least a week where I only lose 1 or 2 pounds.

Hopefully the gastric symptoms settle for you soon.

@SilenceInside thanks for replying. It's weird that I have been on 7.5mg for a while and now I get it. I thought it was maybe a 24hr stomach bug that I had last Saturday but it's back with the stomach cramps and needing to go to the bathroom. Hopefully it goes away soon.
