Online injections in France?

Hello, is anyone aware of an online prescription service who will deliver wegovy or mountjaro in France?

The rules here are incredibly strict in order to get a prescription via a doctor, much more so than the U.K. If I was in the U.K. I would just order it via one of the online providers but I can't find anything like that here - any ideas?

Thanks 🙏🏼

I went to see an endocrinologist and asked for a prescription for Saxenda. This would be a couple if years ago now. She took my medical history, did a physical and gave me a prescription. I was asked to get bloods done and return in three months. I git the script filled and repeated back in the UK, but discontinued use as daily injections were a pain. Go on DoctoLib and see who's available in your area.

Have you tried Zava? Sounds like they'd be able to prescribe Wegovy (Mounjaro doesn't seem to be available yet).

Thank you, although I don't meet the French criteria so I guess I'm trying to bypass the doctor in person

Just had a look and although MJ has been recommended by HAS, it's is not yet available for prescription. It looks like it was recommended only in September this year. https://www.has-sante.fr/jcms/p_3538381/fr/mounjaro-tirzepatide-obesite

However, I also found this https://www.charles.co/blog/poids/mounjaro/ so if you are under 65 and have a BMI of 35+, it looks like you may be ok for Wegovy and this organisation has a weightloss programme through which you can access it. You will have to pick up from a pharmacie though. Remember you will also need pen needles, they come separately and you may need to ask for them.

MOUNJARO (tirzépatide) - Obésité

Meant to add, I don't think your Mutuel will reimbourse, but I guess you can try. I know that Saxenda wasn't, but things may have changed.

Thank you this is really helpful

Following with interest - I'm in France and I'm on Saxenda using ZAVA.
I am hoping Mounjaro will become available soon 🤞🤞🤞🤞

fatinfrance · 19/10/2024 07:20

How do you find saxenda?

I've lost 4.5 kilos BUT it's not as 'amazing' as what I hear about Mounjaro. But I'm also very lazy and the loss has purely been from lowered appetite...
I found out that from the 8th October Saxenda can only be prescribed by an endocrinologist now (in France) so it's even more difficult to get. My pharmacy wouldn't renew my prescription. BUT I contacted ZAVA and, luckily, because I'd started the treatment BEFORE the new directives, they advised showing the pharmacy their message and it should be ok. So I went back and the pharmacy did in fact honour the prescription.
But clearly France is not happy about it all.

PS in terms of side effects etc I've found it fine. A bit of nausea occasionally but it passes quickly.

@fatinfrance Hi there, was reading this thread..It looks like you can get Mounjaro in France.
See link to French blog below.
www.charles.co/blog/poids/mounjaro/#peut-on-trouver-mounjaro-en-france-
I take it you understand French if you're living in France but basically the guy says:
"Mounjaro is currently available in France. It can be prescribed to people under the age of 65 with a BMI of 35 or over, and all you have to do is go to a French pharmacy with a prescription for Mounjaro, and it will be dispensed to you."
