Weight Loss Stalled

I'm on week 8 of Mounjaro. I lost 1 stone 3 pounds on 2.5mg, which was amazing but I haven't lost anything at all on 5mg. Occasionally, I will go down two pounds, but it always comes back on within a day or two.

I'm still happy with that because losing 17 pounds in 2 months is good going, but I'm just finding it a bit weird that I lost loads on the smaller does and nothing on 5. Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas why it it might be the case? Thanks!

Mine stalled going up to 5mg. I nit had any side effects and thought to myself why did I go up if 2.5 was working.. but after 2nd jab the numbers started going down again.. 4th jab done 2 days ago and it was a big 5lb loss that week, so made up for the 1st 2 weeks of rubbish..

Keep going I say.

It's so weird it happens that way. Keeping on is all we can do, and like I say, it was a big loss in the first month, so I'm still doing well...

What percentage of body weight have you lost? I found this article helpful regarding stalls: https://www.secondnature.io/guides/mind/motivation/weight-loss-plateaus-explained

I've hit a stall as I started my second 5mg pen, despite suppression remaining strong and my calories being strictly counted. However, the stall ties in with having reached a 10% loss.

I'm currently sticking with doing what I've been doing and waiting it out, as I'm optimistic it means my body is now recalculating the set point before my journey continues.

Thanks that link is really helpful. I've lost about 10 percent of my starting weight actually, so that all makes sense.

I'm doing the same as you, and sticking to my diet and exercise regime, and just hoping for the best. There's no way it won't shift eventually if we keep it up, right?

Not read the article yet but will do.

But funny enough I was at 10% loss too . I shall have a read.

I'm glad to have found this thread! I'm on 12.5mg with about 20kg loss (half way to the total I need to lose) and my weight loss has also stalled. I'm hoping it's just a blip!

Congrats on your loss so far! It's weird how bodies work, isn't it? How are you finding the 12.5mg dose? I've had no side effects so far (apart from feeling a little nauseous occasionally) but I'm really worried it'll get worse as I progress.

Thank you! I had very mild side effects initially (headaches mainly) and then mild nausea on 12.5mg. Otherwise, it's been fine.

Thanks for the link - really helpful. I had heard of set point theory. Had no idea it could take so long to reset! Forwarned to expect this which is helpful.

This thread and that link has helped me so much today! My weight loss has stalled over the last 2 weeks despite being very good and I couldn’t figure out why. I have lost bang on 10% of my body weight so this explains it and makes me feel a lot better. Thank you so much 😊

I’ve just weighed this morning and I’m 1.5lbs down from my last weigh in, so although not a huge loss, things seem to be moving again!

Love this article - thanks for sharing.

Thanks very much for that article as well. I have only lost 3lbs the last two weeks (6 weeks in after a big loss initially) and I realised I’d also lost 10% of my weight. I’m exercising, in a calorie deficit so I’ll just ride out this plateau. It will be interesting to see what happens when my brain and body get together again ! It is frustrating but it’s better being healthy.
