@FelicityBeedle that's a huge amount gone. Well done. I think we started about the same time.
I have seen 65 kgs on scales ..65.6 to be precise.
I think that's about 10st 3 lbs.
I have only ever been 10 stone when I got married aged 22...I dieted like crazy to get to that.
I remember weighing 11stone aged 13 and getting heavier, then getting to 10 stone for my wedding, then promptly gaining it all back to around 15 stone at my heaviest.
I lost around 3.5 stone when I was 40 and mostly kept it off until menopause.
I started at 12 stone or 76.6 kgs..so loss 25 lbs in total.

I feel fantastic and all my clothes fit or are loose. That is such a joy.

I have noticed that on 2.5 mg this week after having 3.5 weeks off, and appetite suppression no where as good as it was. Think I'll try 3.75 next week.
But really now trying to think about a dose for maintenance.
Has anyone else started to think about this ?

ShiftAMountain · 27/11/2024 09:37

Wow – some great updates since I last checked in!

@Snapespeare – really glad your surgery went well and glad you still managed your dose this week. Also, well done on beating your previous MFP best. I also have been logging my weight for over twenty years now. I am never sure if it’s helpful or not but I can look back and see exactly when I weighed more/less/the same as now, noted against key events.

@Cocoaone – great loss this week.

@boxoftoads - I am also on the 5mg and am going to stay on it until the New Year rather than go up a dose before Xmas

@KitsyWitsy – what a big week for you. 4lbs is phenomenal.

@Ozgirl75 – Yes, I am frequently surprised by how eating out of the ordinary now leaves me feeling a bit unwell.

@Theredjellybean – well done on navigating your holiday. 3 weeks in S America sounds wonderful! I am personally so far away from maintenance it’s not yet on my radar.

@Jabberwokie – I swear that the weeks when the scales are not so impressive, they are the weeks I physically feel much thinner. It’s so odd, it’s like my body is saying ‘hang on, I just need to swap some stuff around to stack it more efficiently’. I also think my nails are longer and better than they have been in years – but I am taking collagen and biotin. Not convinced either work to reduce hair los and saggy skin, but felt like a reasonable gamble.

@Pashazade – I have a whole wardrobe of 16 clothes that have been stored away. I am starting to think I may have to dog them out before Xmas. Hurrah.

@lespameo – 17lbs in 9 weeks is really good progress and your chart is a great illustration of how it’s never a straight line, but the results keep coming all the same.

@Witchyandtwitchy – you sound like you have the same plan re dosage over Xmas as me. Fingers crossed it works for us both.

@10storeylovesong – I haven’t noticed that about the bonus dose – maybe it’s just because it’s at the end of the pen and so comes at about the time the official schedule recommends you move up?

@AussieMum135 – that sounds tough. I think we probably all recognise that switch in us that wants to use food to comfort or steady our emotions. I know I do. Glad you’re going to keep trying a bit longer.

@peonym – Great to hear that 7.5mg has given you the boost you needed.

@boxoftoads – well done! I am so far away from 11 stone, it seems like a lifetime away so I can well imagine it is an emotionally moving achievement

@MiddleAgedNotOwt – I like the layer analogy. I too am finding my old natural confidence creeping back, bit by bit.

@FelicityBeedle – well done on hitting 30lbs. I sneaked a peek on the scales this morning and am exactly 30lbs down myself today. I am so glad I started MJ (just wish I’d done it a bit sooner, but hey-ho).

@Floofypuppy – That’s so little to be eating, if that carries on, might you think about reducing the dose again a little bit just so you can eat properly?

@Darkbutstarrynight – It’s a tough decision. If you stick, you know what you’re getting but you run the risk of it not being particularly effective at Xmas when you might need it the most. But if you go up, you might find it a bit much at Xmas – though I suppose you can always just take the smaller dose out of the bigger pen. But, as I’ve said – like @Bellyblueboy I am staying on 5mg until the New Year now. I am having good lose, reasonable suppression and I don’t want to have to balance side effects and Xmas food.

Well done everyone!

@ShiftAMountain

Legendary update! Thank you for staying with us all.

30lbs is amazing, glad to hear you too are sticking with it until next year to help with the chaos over the holidays.

Pashazade · 27/11/2024 11:10

It's frustrating in that I've been at my size 18/20 weight for so long I've got few clothes in the lower sizes, I'm starting to fit into the bit tight stuff now that has seen me through up and down a stone in the last few years. I didn't keep stuff as it just got depressing! Although randomly I will have lots of shorts for next summer! 🤣. Charity shops are my friends, although I have lots of handmade crochet tops/jumpers which will be too big and can't be adjusted!

WeeklyJab · 27/11/2024 11:19

I can definitely see that I’ve lost weight from my (many) chins - because now it’s loose and wrinkled! Not entirely sure that’s better, but what can you do…

My clothes feel no different but I do wear very loose tops and tunics so I guess that it’s normal it wouldn’t show.

After another slight plateau I’ve lost weight again in a bit of a drop. Weird the way it does that - 2 weeks identical weight then 2kg off by the next week.

8 weeks of Mounjaro, 11kgs lost - or 24lbs in old money.

It’s great to hear how well everyone is doing! Very motivating on my fed up days.

peonym · 27/11/2024 11:27

Hi all

Heading on a city break today but weighed before I left and I'm 4lbs down this week after a 2-3 week stall! This was my first week on 7.5mg so if you're considering it and you've stalled it's definitely worth a lash.

SW pre MJ: 16,10

End of week 10 here.

3.4lbs lost this week, for 30.6lbs total.

In my mind I've parked the 2 weeks over Xmas and NY as 'just keep my weight about the same' weeks so am not looking to lose in those 2 weeks. But I also have a VERY long way to go yet. My mini target is to 'just' be Class 1 Obese by then.

If I was staring into the start of Overweight, I'd be overjoyed. Well done @10storeylovesong

I had an event at school this week as my son was finishing primary and it was amazing to wear a nice skirt and top and get my photo taken and not hate how I looked!

im down 9 kg in 9 weeks now and really feeling so pleased with myself. I’ve got about 6-7 kg to go and am confident I’ll get there, although the weight loss has definitely slowed off.

I'm still going strong. I've completed 10 weeks, and I've lost 22lb, which is 9.2% of my total body weight and takes my BMI to just under 40. Still a long way to go but feeling positive about it.

I guess I've had it fairly easy with side effects - a bit of a sore head, slight nausea but no sickness and only some slight bowel discomfort.

I will be ordering my 4th pen soon and I think I'm going to stick with 5mg. It's working; I'm losing between 1.5 and 2.5 lbs a week and have no desire to have it any faster.

I can eat a full "normal" portion meal and feel satisfied without the urge to stuff more in. I also don't really feel like snacking, but it's funny, as my head sometimes tells me I'll want to snack, so when I'm in the shop on a Friday, I'm still buying my old favourites (the difference is my hubby ends up eating them rather than me).

I finally feel in control of what I eat and am able to make the choice whether to eat something. Before, it felt like I had no choice - I absolutely 100% was going to be eating whatever it was I was being offered or fancied (in fact, I have two hands, so I'd want one for each hand). If I did manage to resist it felt like I deserved a standing ovation and a gold medal for my sacrifice.

Pashazade · 29/11/2024 13:03

Funny isn't it, most people who've never struggled would be horrified with the idea of being happy to be in the overweight category! I'm aiming for it hard, I know it's unlikely I'll actually hit the top of my bmi as I had to fight so hard to get there last time and that was damn near 20 years ago and before children and peri menopause. If I get within half a stone I will be very very happy and still technically overweight!

don’t worry, it’s usually only like that for a day, maybe 2. I had a proper dinner tonight!

CW: 172.6lb / 12st 4.6lb / 78.3kg
GW: probably 147lbs / 10st 7lb / 66kg

Wk2: -2lb / 0.9kg (2.5mg)

Wk4: -2.8lb / 1.3kg (2mg)
Wk5: -2.6lb / 1.2kg (2.5mg)
Wk6: +0.2lb / 0.1kg (2.5mg)
Wk7: -4lb / 1.8kg (3.75mg)
Wk8: -2.4lb / 1.1kg (3.75mg)
Wk9. -2.6lb / 1.2kg (3.75mg)

BMI start: 32.2 Current: 28.4

I’ve not had a nice week this week. No awful symptoms, but the bloating, nausea and fullness is back with a vengeance despite the toilet situation being good. Most days I’ve managed to eat enough calories but yesterday, day 6, was the worst and I only had just over 600 calories. I haven’t felt like this since week 1&2, so the 3.75mg must have built up to a level that increases the delayed gastric emptying just a bit too much for me.

I’m going to go back down this week (maybe as far as 2.5) as I have a couple of events and don’t want to feel bloated and uncomfortable, or have people notice that I’ve only managed a few mouthfuls.

On the plus side, I'm less than a pound away from 50% of my weight loss goal. Grin Still no one has mentioned that I look any different apart from someone at work. But I feel so much slimmer, and walking the dog is much faster and easier on my knees.

Some great progress in here this week too - much quieter on the thread but that's probably because we're all mostly in our stride. How crazy to think that we've kept it up for 2-3 months now - I don't know about anyone else but I don't think I've ever been able to stick at healthier eating for that long in my life

Allmyfavouritepeople · 30/11/2024 13:02

Lost count of what week I'm on but after hovering around 11 st for weeks including the bizarre 10 st 14 reading I got, the scales are finally moving down again.
SW 12st 6
CW 10 st 11

Gone back down to 2.5mg after 3.75mg and feel much better for it. Noticeable difference in my mood which is brilliant and such a relief. 10lbs to go until I'm a healthy bmi which is incredible and I'll be ready to start looking at fertility options in the new year!

Mydoghealsmyheart · 30/11/2024 14:41

I went up to 7.5mg but had two weeks of terrible gastric symptoms that I reduced it to 6mg this week and it seems to have helped a lot. I’m so pleased that my weight loss is ongoing although it’s not been a quick process like some other people have had. But I do still struggle with pain where my gallbladder once was and some constipation. Lower doses like 5mg or below wore off quickly so I’m still left with the dilemma of whether I accept these symptoms or if I try to go it alone without the injections.

Theredjellybean · 30/11/2024 15:22

@Cocoaone ... I've lost 25 lbs now and am nearer the lower end of healthy BMI.
I'm now in size 10 clothes from size 14...
No one has said a bloody word .. except my mother who cattily said " you don't want to get gaunt"
I'm quite upset by it as feel and look great ..

Cocoaone · 30/11/2024 15:31

The main thing is we feel better in ourselves @Theredjellybean, and we've massively improved our health already.

Interesting that you have pain where your gallbladder was @Mydoghealsmyheart - I wonder what that's about. Maybe you have a phantom gallbladder?!

@Allmyfavouritepeople - how amazing for you! Keep us updated on your fertility journey, it's utterly brilliant that these drugs are helping people with realising all kinds of dreams that weren't possible before.

I never comment on people’s weight. The closest I come is complementing them on new clothes.

it can be a thorny subject for some.

i was very embarrassed when a group of women in work comments on my weight loss yesterday. I have lost 1st 9, and have gone from size 16 to size 12. It is most noticeable in my face. But I hate people commenting on my body!

people do notice, most are just too polite to mention.

Can you have a phantom gallbladder, is that a thing?

KitsyWitsy · 30/11/2024 17:42

No loss this week. I think it’s because I had a salty day yesterday. I’m not too disappointed as I did lose 4lbs last week.

ShiftAMountain · 30/11/2024 19:27

I hate people at work commenting too (except those few colleagues who I am closer to). I once lost a fair bit of weight in the past and the SHAME of walking into an office I'd not been in for a little while and having about 10 people stand up and gasp. Gasp. As if it was a reveal on the Biggest Loser. It was mortifying. 😳

@Mydoghealsmyheart I was just jesting, but had a google and it's real! Well, sort of. It can be linked to PCS apparently. Might be worth talking to your GP?
