Bonus dose v. increasing weekly dose

Quick question for those who have more practice than me with the pens, please … is it possible to take a slightly increased dose over four weeks before going up a full level on a pen, rather than having a bonus dose at the end?

It is. I did 4 weeks of 5mg + 15 clicks, it worked out at about 6.25mg.

I am buying 5mg pens and taking 3.75mg (45 clicks), and stuck there for the last 10 weeks as it works for me.

If you have completed 4 weeks at your current dose, have the same dose pen again and want to take more than the dose of the pen it will mean two injections, make sure you use a new needle for each one.

Can you click past the '1" on the pen to get slightly more dose? Or do you have to inject then do the 15 clicks afterwards?

@PickleSarnie the pens will not wind past 1 so you would have to do two injections with two different needles

If you only take 3.75mg from a 5mg pen is there not a lot left over that you can't use because it's past 30 days?

3.75mg is 0.45ml x 5 doses = 2.25ml

Each pen (including bonus dose) has 3ml

You can take injections on day 0,7,14,21,28 and get 5 doses within the 30 day rule. My 5th bonus dose I can do without hardtwist/syringe.

Leaves 0.75ml in the pen. Choice is to break the 30 day rule and use on day 35 for a 6th dose (that is up to each person on their attitude to risk as Eli Lilly say stick to the 30 day rule), or bin.

The medication works perfectly (so far) for me on 3.75mg so I don't see any medication discarded as a "waste" or feel the need to increase my dose to use it up. I have had the effect I wanted for at least 5 weeks.
