Bah! Have lost the grand total of 2 ounces this week. There's slow and then there's slooooooow.

Awwwww. But still a loss

My scales don't do ounces so it's only lbs for me

I'm on Doggyday care duties this week so taken woofa out for a walk and ball throwing and he's now snoring

@Pinkjenny sounds like need to go to 7.5. Be brave. Join us

@FlappingMadly I know but it FEELS like one 😂😂

Azuresky68 · 15/10/2024 11:11

@Pinkjenny have you decided about 7.5 mg yet? I am due to go up next week, whilst on holiday but just read a couple of horror stories on another thread about 💩💩💩 storms...never had that problem on MJ ...it's the opposite in fact. So now debating whether to use my 7.5 pen to do a lower dose 🤔 I was keen to get away from 5 mg due to nausea but after injecting last Friday it's finally calmed down today and I actually feel more 'normal'! I know we are all different and can't predict how we will react to dosage so will have to have a think. Any advice is welcome 🙏

FlappingMadly · 15/10/2024 11:16

Aww @owlyboo our previous dog lived to a ripe old age. It’s certainly a change of pace! But lovely, especially when they find a warm patch.

🤣🤣 I hear you @Pinkjenny

@Arraminta it’s 600ish grams, no? A loss! 💃💃💃

I am on 4g currently. It’s working quite well. It was originally stretched out like that because I’m travelling a fair bit for work. My next pen is 5g and I will do full dose. Have already ordered the 7.5. And will stockpile a bit in the next weeks as it’s full on until Christmas, and the end of my job, which will be weird. But will be on high dose by then which should help with stress.

Wingingit11 · 15/10/2024 11:20

@Azuresky68 it’s been fine for me tbh. I’m always jittery about steps up then conclude I have over dramatised !

Pinkjenny · 15/10/2024 11:40

@Azuresky68 I'm going to do my bonus 5 this week and then go straight up to 7.5, but I'm also a bit nervous. That said, I've been nervous at every dose!

owlyboo · 15/10/2024 11:42

I'm doing my 7.5mg today... I feel okay about it, I've been fine so far and my last 5mg didn't have the kick I'm used to so I'm hoping for the kick to come back... but with no side effects please 😂

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/10/2024 12:02

I'm fine on 7.5

Tho I know I'm rare 😂

@MabelSpan how are you feeling today after doubledosegate?
Ah the comfortable in clothes feeling! I'm loving it, I'm reluctant to spend any money on clothes. I nipped into Asda after our walk and got 4 long sleeved tops for £2 each! I'm refusing to buy anything else other than for walking until I reach my goal. I really could do with a new long gilet though.

itwasnevermine · 15/10/2024 14:11

Well I have an awful sprain and I'm banned from exercising for two weeks, I'm to keep walking to a minimum and I'm on crutches for a while! What a pain in the bum

MargoLivebetter · 15/10/2024 14:14

ouch @itwasnevermine ! Rest up and let it heal. Do you like Pilates or Yoga? You could do mat based stuff so that you don't get too down in the dumps about not exercising.

owlyboo · 15/10/2024 14:19

Oh no @itwasnevermine !!! How frustrating!! I hope it heals quickly.

@NippyCrab I'm doing the same. Only really buying for walking or if I absolutely have to! My L sweaty betty leggings which are what I live in are starting to fall down (which is annoying as I have multiple pairs!) luckily u have one m and I've planned a trip to the outlet in a weeks time to stock up! T shirts are just becoming more and more oversized! They'll do for now!

itwasnevermine · 15/10/2024 14:20

Yeah I'll find some online yoga or something, just frustrating as I scraped my knee badly as well so kneeling is out of the question!

Poor you @itwasnevermine 💐

I would contact the council where they tripped and inform them

I Started off with a sprain and ended up surgery and torn ligaments

@Blondeshavemorefun I'm definitely contacting them!! I'm hoping it's just a bad sprain, I have to go back to work tomorrow but it is what it is, I'll cope hopping along

FlappingMadly · 15/10/2024 16:15

@itwasnevermine oh bad news. But really take it easy and let it rest. Then do the advised exercises. Hope you get physio. I had a mega bad sprain and it’s healed fine.

I'm guessing they'll all eventually announce this as they all have to follow the same guidelines.

Has everyone seen the news today about weight loss injections being offered to people in low income to allow them to return to work. Seems a very goading headline as it would have to be based on a multiple of factors not just low income surely such as

  1. Low income
  2. High BMI
  3. Perhaps PIP in place as weight being a factor as not being able to work as if not how would losing weight automatically equal a job?!

This is not benefit bashing in the slightest more news bashing!

owlyboo · 15/10/2024 16:17

When I say news I listen to radio x in the mornings and it was one of their main news bulletins so not exactly high brow news but still!

Just tune it all out, fat people have always been and will always be the target for hatred

MargoLivebetter · 15/10/2024 16:23

@owlyboo the headlines as ever are somewhat misleading. Lilly signed a huge investment deal with the UK Government on Monday. As part of that, they will be doing a study with Health Innovation Manchester to examine whether being put on weight loss drugs will reduce worklessness and the impact on NHS service use.

weaseleyes · 15/10/2024 17:53

I've just had an odd potentially NSV - I think. I had an invite for a covid and flu jab, that just said my NHS record showed I was eligible and I could book, so I signed up at a local pharmacy. I wasn't altogether sure why I was eligible, as I don't have any of the usual long term conditions, but assumed it might be that I was obese or just that I'd somehow got in the system. Anyway, when I turned up the rather brusque pharmacist demanded to know why I thought I was eligible. I said the letter hadn't specified, but I'd had the invite so surely that was proof I was. He said it wasn't and he had to assess me, demanded to know what long term condition I had, and was very unhappy that I didn't have any. He then wanted to see the invite so I had to check my email. Really I didn't want to say that perhaps it was because I'm obese as it felt a bit shameful, but as he seemed on the brink of kicking me out, I finally said could it be because I'm overweight? He humphed and said well, what do you weigh? When I told him, he still looked sceptical so I told him my BMI (which of course I miraculously know down to the decimal point - 31.6). He then grudgingly admitted this might be the reason and gave me the jabs.

So my sort of NSV is that someone didn't immediately think I might be overweight enough to qualify for free jabs, thought I was trying it on, was fairly rude, and then gave me two jabs which will probably make me feel rubbish 🙄😀 I think I'd rather have being able to fit into different trousers!
