Anyone tried this short term, how much can you lose in 1st 2 months?

Varies significantly by person depending on their starting weight, lifestyle, metabolism, activity levels etc etc, how they respond to the medication and how many changes they make.

Some people respond to the medication immediately, others do not respond or feel any appetite suppression until on the higher doses and each dose needs to be taken for a minimum of 4 weeks.

It is a longer term medication and financial commitment for most people.

I've lost a stone in the first month, but 9 lbs of that was in the first week when the impact was new. I expect losses to be slower, 1-2 lbs a week from now on.

rocketgal · 06/10/2024 15:43

Following as I only want to do it for a few months and have seen people do this but interested to hear of peoples experiences

killamounjaro · 06/10/2024 16:02

I've just ordered my first pen. I'm just into the 30 BMI range and just need the kickstart to reset my eating and gym habits which used to be much better than they are now. I don't plan on doing more than 3 months (hopefully!)

rockingbird · 06/10/2024 16:03

Place marking as I'm interested to know how this might work.

rocketgal · 06/10/2024 16:35

@killamounjaro where did you order from if you don't mind me asking

Bellyblueboy · 06/10/2024 16:52

I am on my second week. I have lost 5lbs in ten days.

i have three stone to lose - and I think that will take about five months. But I am planning on being on a maintenance dose long term. I am a binge eater and I have yo-yo dieted for years. I need the appetite suppressant - and the constant urge thinking about food to quieten down. I know I would put the weight back on if I stopped to drug - and that’s after two shots!

lilijm · 06/10/2024 17:01

I'm on my second injection tomorrow, I've had a big loss the first week but my weight was very high. I have also made a lot of changes at the same time which I hope are helping. I went with Voy for the injections as I looked around, it's been okay nothing to complain about. The first night I was so sick, anxious and tired for the first few days. It didn't help that it had been my birthday so hadn't exactly ate healthily before hand!

In the first 2 months, I lost 10kg pretty much. Though I’m trying this long term.

Wingingit11 · 06/10/2024 17:06

Agree with @WeAllHaveWings - I started the beginning of August and on that board there is a wild
range of losses. I’ve lost about 1.5 stone which arguably if you don’t think you need MJ long term you might feel able to lose through eg intermittent fasting. I’ve come to realise though that I and a lot of others on MJ benefit far more widely though

Good point here, a lot of people lose a lot of water weight in the first week (same as most diets). This type of weight will come back quickly if the diet/change of lifestyle is not maintained.

I went with MedExpress in the end, I’ve been looking at it for about 6 weeks and weighing (see what I did there 😉) up the pros and cons of each, plus pricing.

For me they looked the best all round value for money, I didn’t want a subscription supplier such as VOY.

There’s a good comparison site https://monj.co.uk/ which has all the prices etc. I was given a referral code by a MNetter so got £40 off and hoping someone will use my referral code which will get me another £40 off my next one. However I took in to consideration not getting the discount second and third time around and MedExpress still looked the best.

So for my first month I paid £113 inc. postage.
Application was pretty straight forward, had to upload photo and proof of ID. Did it all this morning and it’s been approved and is already on its way to me.

Again I’d be grateful to anyone who’d like to use my referral code, send me a DM and I’ll forward it on (MN doesn’t like us to spam the codes) There is also a specific referral code thread, so if you go with a different supplier be sure to check it out and get yourself a discount!

Exactly how I feel. I had about three stone to lose - have lost 15lb in the first month but am already thinking that I'll need to be on this long term after a lifetime of weight issues and tendencies to overeat. I don't think it's been a case of me "not knowing" what to do before MJ - it's the actual doing it that's hard. I'm realising it's just not hard for those who've never struggled as they're not fighting the endless compulsions.

swotching off that ‘food noise’ has been amazing. I remember being amazed when people said they forgot to eat. That has never happened to me. Ever.

when I used to go on a diet I it was the snacking that killed me. I would be great until about 8pm then I would. Raid the fridge. I couldn’t keep crisps or biscuits in the house. I have just finished a very healthy meal and I won’t eat now until tomorrow lunch time.

Its such a new experience.

I have done my first two pens now (just the bonus left in my second pen so 9 doses taken, number 10 tomorrow). I have lost 7.6kg, that's over 16lbs.

Flugelb1nder · 10/10/2024 10:22
