Mounjaro - delivery issue

Hi, I ordered my first mounjaro pen and it was posted on 29 September. Due to some issues with Royal Mail it's finally been delivered today 5th October.

I know it's meant to be kept chilled but it's arrived at room temperature.

Will it still be usable or should I order another?

Have emailed MedExpress but thought I'd ask the hive mind here too! Thanks

It's usable within 30 days so if you start straight away you should be ok. It's meant to be kept chilled before you start using it, but once you start with the first injection it can be kept at room temp and then used within the 30 day limit.

I’d seek a replacement - I had a similar issue this week although less days in transit, and was refunded

@Waiting9 were you refunded by the company or the courier? I've complained to Royal Mail but not overly hopeful about getting a response. Hopefully MedExpress will be in touch to advise either way. Thanks for replying 😊

By the company 😊you don’t need to contact the courier at all, it’s the company’s responsibility

It is up to MedExpress to ensure the pen arrives to you in the correct condition. Your contract is is MedExpress, theirs is with the courier.

Unless you refused, rearranged or were not in to accept delivery then it gets tricky who should bear the brunt of the loss.

If it was posted on 29th it would have been ok in cool packaging for 48hrs which was Tuesday. If you have 30 days from Tuesday you are now on day 4.

Inject today day 4 the days 11, 18, 25. It would mean if using your 5th bonus dose it would be day 32 (2 days beyond the discard after 30 days). I personally would use the pen for 5 doses if the weather hasn't been hot where you are.

During shipping and storing by wholesalers, health care professionals (HCPs) and pharmacies, Mounjaro must be kept between 2°C and 8°C.3
The 30-day room temperature exposure allowance refers to the used pen, and wholesalers, distribution Centers, HCPs and pharmacies cannot use any part of this allowance.2

So the clock shouldn’t start ticking down at the point of delivery - you should have the freedom to start using your pen at any time before the expiry date. You shouldn’t have to immediately start using your pen there and then.

Fair enough if you don’t mind, but personally I pushed for a remedy in similar circumstances.

Ah @Waiting9 definitely something to think about. You're right too - I had asked for stability data and if the efficacy would be affected but that wasn't answered. Think I might contact them again tomorrow and push for another pen as I wasn't planning on starting it until next week. Thanks for answering 👍🏼

Can ibask what happened? Am in this predicament atm. Shipped out on friday and cause of bank holiday weekend won't be arriving till today (Tuesday) have rang them and they assured me it's OK unless liquid is cloudy or there are particles inside. Was your pen ok, did it work effectively?

Hello! From memory the pen was fine :) I just stored it and used it as normal ☺️
