Hi, new here. I took my first injection of wegovy on Thursday and wondered if there was anyone else who's just started it?

I'm feeling fine so far. Tiny head ache yesterday but otherwise no other side effects yet.

I don’t know about the greasy hair. Could he. Hang on in there for the weight loss. 0.25 mg didn’t do much for me.

Panham · 24/01/2025 11:04

Just over 3 weeks now and just lost 1kg overnight! Never before!

Zeroeffsleft · 24/01/2025 14:33

That’s great @Panham ! I’ve just ordered the 1.0 dose so sh*ts gonna get real now! Really hoping I can manage the nausea on a higher dose. I must just be quite sensitive to it. I’ve been on antibiotics this week for a uti and it’s been quite hellish alongside the WLI due to the slow digestion. Feel soo sick.

Panham · 24/01/2025 14:47

Is that what it does slow digestion!

Zeroeffsleft · 05/02/2025 12:48

First dose of 1.0 Wegovy yesterday, and the nausea was horrendous! Didn't help myself by having a big dinner and took some ibuprofen before bed. But of course it all takes so long to digest that I just overwhelmed my system. So very small meals from now on and a super early tea so that it's digested before bed. On a plus, my wedding ring fits again! And clothes that always felt tight/uncomfortable are fitting lovely now :). Still not replaced scales battery so no idea what I've lost and just gonna keep it that way as it suits me not to focus on the numbers just how I feel.

Panham · 05/02/2025 16:37

I’ve done my 4 weeks @ 0.25 increased to 0.5 yesterday. Slight headache but not noticed any change in weight, attitude to food or side affects thank goodness. Wondering when it will all kick in!

Zeroeffsleft · 05/02/2025 19:07

Anyone know if hangovers are worse on Wegovy? Just wondering if two glasses of wine will take ages to metabolise and I’ll be paying for days?! Best avoided?

No idea sorry I didn’t realise things took longer to metabolise. It hasn’t affected me that way! I wish. I’ve been having my usual drinks at the weekend and not had any adverse effects, 😀

Zeroeffsleft · 23/02/2025 08:34

How is everyone doing on their doses? I am now back to 0.5 as the 1.0 was just hideous and making me feel miserable. I went completely off my food to the point where I was struggling to even get one balanced nutritious meal a day which can’t be good. However I’m now stuck with the 1.0 and 1.7 pens so will take 0.5 from them and buy the 0.5/0.75 pens again. Think I need longer to get up to 1.0, if at all. Does anyone know if you can skip a week? I’ve got holiday booked and want to enjoy myself!

BackToWegovy · 23/02/2025 10:13

I am doing fine on my 1.35mg midway dose. Too well really - I feel like the diet is falling to pieces with lots of cravings. I have another three doses to take before going up to 1.7mg.

i wonder if it is because I am used to the drug or if my body is fighting back harder now I am lighter than I have been for years.

BackToWegovy · 23/02/2025 10:15

I think skipping one week is ok. It’s more than 2 weeks they done like.

mamabeeboo · 10/03/2025 14:57

Hi, just wondering if anyone has an update after starting this thread back in October/ November. And how wegovy is going?

Kiwirose · 10/03/2025 22:39

Just gone up to the highest dose 2.4 and I have really dry mouth - anyone else got this?

Also not losing much weight but it is free on NHS tier 3 so I guess I can stick with it for a while to see what happens. I wish they would switch to manjauro

BackToWegovy · 11/03/2025 07:11

Having been so happy with my 1.35mg dose I suddenly had a bad reaction last week and time off work. I haven’t taken any this week and am going to drop back down to 0.5mg and see how it goes - probably on Sunday.

Hi, just wondering if anyone has an update after starting this thread back in October/ November. And how wegovy is going?

Well I'm still going and it's been slow (as I wanted, to avoid sagging skin, for safety, and to help make sure it stays off) but all my clothes are far too big and people have commented a lot on how good I look. Certainly a way to go and 1mg works well for me. I haven't gone any higher. I don't actually weigh myself, but I feel such a lot better!

Zeroeffsleft · 20/03/2025 10:54

Same as @marshmallowfinder, I've been titrating very slowly to limit the side effects and dramatic WL. I've had to donate some trousers than now don't fit. I feel soo much better in terms of joint pain and general ability to go on hikes etc. It really is life changing. I also don't weigh myself.
Only thing I think you need to watch for is that you are getting enough nutrition through the day/week. There are some days that it just doesn't occur to me to eat much so I'll make sure one meal at least is super nutritious tonnes of veggies, spinach, beans. Obviously the calorie deficit is helping with the WL, but I don't want to introduce other problems through creating deficiencies. I also take a multi-vitamin, Vitamin D and Iron.

How is everyone doing? I’ve stuck to 0.5 and it seems to be working ok. Nausea is less and only the day or two after I take the Wegovy. Getting loads of comments about my WL and really do feel amazing in terms of carrying less weight and sleeping better.
Only thing that really bothers me is how I feel in the mornings, like I’ve had two bottles of wine! I just feel so rough and headachy. Anyone else get this? I really hate it as I have kids I need to be up and active straight away and it’s awful.

marshmallowfinder · 24/05/2025 17:17

Just coming back to say, I'm finding it now has very little effect on my appetite and cravings. (Started in October.) I'm desperate for milk chocolate.😭 I am back to thinking about food most of the time.😭😭😭 I'm trying desperately not to put weight on again and wondering if I might change to Mounjaro to boost things again. I have a fair amount to lose still.

Toddlerteaplease · 24/05/2025 17:33

I had my first dose on Tuesday and been ok. Occasional short lived nausea. But nothing else. Unt this morning I was back at work. Got some cramps then felt really faint and had a huge vomit. Is that normal after a few days?

marshmallowfinder · 24/05/2025 20:40

@Toddlerteaplease yes, I had a similar one off episode in the early days. Definitely eat little and often, take a probiotic, and I found peppermint tea was very soothing to drink.

Toddlerteaplease · 24/05/2025 20:41

I did wonder if it was because it’s was the first time I’ve been out of bed early this week. Felt fine the rest of the day.

How much water are you drinking?

Hangovers are in large part caused by dehydration - so if you're waking up feeling hungover, it's possible you aren't drinking enough before bed or you have an imbalance in electrolytes.

You could also try drinking some coconut water in an evening (a natural electrolyte drink).

Thanks Laura, it probably is a bit of dehydration actually. I forget to drink because I just don’t have the same urge to eat or drink that I used to. I’ve also noticed it correlates with how late I eat my dinner too, or if I have a cheeky scoop of ice cream before bed. It’s like I then have a “food hangover” the next day. So like last night I had dinner at 6pm and feel so much better this morning. I’ll definitely try the coconut water…where do you buy that?
@marshmallowfinder what dose are you on now? I also had big ups and downs, then more stability in the cravings. Do you ever just have some of what you’re craving? I find that I’ll crave chocolate then if I have some I lose interest after one or two squares.

Usual supermarkets - Sainsbury's/tesco/Morrison etc. This is the one I get. You can get little cartoons too. Don't drink too much, it can act in a similar way to prune juice! Haha. One or two glasses a day though is good.
