Advice for a newbie? Weight loss injections

I am brand new to weight loss injections and not sure where to start. My BMI is 32 and most of my weight is around my waist. I take the mini pill but no other medications. I have tried to be on a diet but end up obsessing over food. I’ve been maintaining my current weight for 2 years but really need to lose! I look and feel rubbish. Where should I start?

Hi, I’ve just started (2nd injection will be Sunday). I think you should do the following:

Read previous threads on here. Continuing mounjaro from the first posts is a good place to start.
When you’re ready join the October starters thread. Your current one will probably get lost - I made that mistake!
Read Some of the research about Mounjaro - some of the pharmacy co websites have good information.
Google diet to eat whilst on Mounjaro - this is really important. High fibre (whole grains, oatmeal, fruit, veg, salad), high protein (lean chicken, fish, pulses etc), good fats (avocado, olive oil, whole Greek yogurt, nuts etc) lots of water. Look at which foods contain the highest protein and highest fibre).
One of the most useful things for me was getting all the foods and some meds in (saw this mentioned by other people). So I bought travel anti sickness, gaviscon, anti diarrhoea and constipation meds (haven’t used but good to know they are there!).
Good luck!

And be aware Mounjaro will affect the absorption of your oral contraception so you'll need to take other precautions whilst on it.

You have already started by asking this. Hi!

I think your first place is looking at the already existing threads, which are honestly a wealth of information.

You also would want to find an online provider you like, and fill out their online consultation form (they'll also ask for photos). This is very straightforward.
The injectables available would be Wegovy and Mounjaro.
You will notice, most of us here, are on Mounjaro, and we LOVE it.
Objectively, both medications are effective and good, and give great results, but Mounjaro reports fewer side effects and bigger losses (especially if you have more to lose).

The injections themselves are painless, absolutely, you won't feel a thing. You're gonna freak out the first time you do it, it would seem like this big monumental thing (and it probably is), you will read the instructions 7 times, you might be nervous. And that's okay. It becomes second nature.

The medication will take care of that pesky food noise and cravings, leaving you free to focus on creating new healthy habits around food and exercise. Repeat after me: water, protein, fiber, movement.

The weight will start melting off, and you won't quite believe your eyes. You will feel and look better than you have in a long long long time, and your only regret would be that you didn't start this sooner.

You got this. Good luck!

Sorry to jump on, when do you order the second oen?I just go approved and thinking of starting Saturday, but wondered how far in advance I should order the second pen, maybe 2.5 weeks?

Most chemists it's a subscription service so they send it automatically after checking how you are getting along.

Many are not a subscription service though. I actually thought most weren't and it was only a couple of them that had that model.

I use Asda, it's really up to me when I reorder. I tend to do it just after my 3rd injection from the current pen. I want to leave it long enough to know how I'm responding to the current dose that I'm on before deciding whether to stick with the same dose or move up (or down I suppose). What helps is that so far Asda have been extremely prompt with approving and sending out the next order, so I know I won't be left hanging without the next pen.

They do send me reminders to reorder pretty much from one week after the previous order! I just ignore them.

Ah ok, all the ones I gave been with numan, Chequp, phlo are all subscription. Not had a one off one, I guess order the week before you need it in that case
