Help! I'm on the train on the way to the airport and in the midst of packing and getting the house ready to be left I forgot to take my second 5mg dose. I am kicking myself now as I can't go back for it. Thursday evening is the time I usually take it, so by the time I am back from a ten day holiday it will have been 17 days since my last dose.
I assume there's nothing I can do, I'll just have to go without. How quickly will the food noise come back? Am I likely to lose all/some of my progress? So far I have lost 5.4kg since 11 Sep and am feeling so much better, I'm so worried about undoing all of that progress and the consistent downward numbers on the scale.

If anyone has experienced this before or has some words of wisdom I'll be very grateful.

Hey you'll probably be fine, I space mine out to longer gaps anyway because I find the effect lasts on me.
Enjoy your holiday, don't stress about it, and just take note of how it's going. You might find it encourages you to be less dependent on the jabs being so close together.

Do you normally get a noticeable waning of the effects of each injection towards the end of the week? If you don't then you probably won't notice for a few days, and then you might feel the effects wearing off.

If it will be 17 days between injections, you might consider not going straight back up to 5mg, but maybe count clicks to do a lower dose? Just a thought as it might be a bigger step up to the 5mg from where you are at the end of the 17 days.

Hi both, thank you so much for replying. No, no effects or side effects here, although this is my first week on 5mgs. I'm slightly paranoid thinking I might be hungry now? But that must just whatever the opposite of the placebo effect is.

Will definitely consider not going straight back in at 5mg, I hadn't even thought of that! I just don't want to lose my progress, I'm so much happier feeling the way I do now and I'd be so disheartened if the scales went back up the other way.

You can get it while abroad. You will need yo see a doctor and ask them for a prescription. We asked for two prescriptions as you have to pay but the pens are much cheaper abroad. X

Has anyone got any remedies how to stop these sulphur burps. The doctor said gaviscon but that doesn't work. Thanks

You haven’t been on the medication for long, it’s a good and bad thing:

  • good because you’re so early on in your journey, a short break won’t necessarily set you back. You might regain but it shouldn’t be stubborn to lose. The more weight you lose, the harder it is to keep losing weight
  • bad because the longer you take the medication, the longer it stays in your system - you may need to start afresh when you return

personally I would try and get a prescription whilst abroad, otherwise you’re relying on willpower
