Juniper questions

So I finally bit the bullet and signed up with Juniper. I'd been umming and ahhing but at 105kg and 162cm (16st and 5ft3in) I am progressively struggling to make a dent.

Anyway, they asked for a couple of photos (front and side profile of stomach) and said they will get back to me with either a Mounjaro or Wegovy plan. I was very very excited up until I read they would tell me which one I would get.

I really wanted to start Mounjaro and assumed after I paid I would get the option. Does anyone know if they find me ineligible for Mounjaro whether I can tell them I don't want to go ahead?

Thank you!

I haven't told anyone other than on here what I am planning to do. I don't really understand why.

I haven't told anybody except DH and don't plan on sharing it with anybody else either.

I initially didn't want to tell anyone but actually have and have had 100% positive response! I've didn't want to tell my sons yet because they have the metabolism of teenage boys and don't necessarily understand how hard it is.

What does juniper offer that other places don't? I am planning to go for weight loss injections too.

TheAmazingShrinkingWoman · 05/10/2024 10:21

So far, really good resources around diet, workout plans, access to nutritionist, free scales and a really cute tape measure!

I picked it because I want to be creating really strong foundations so I don't waste this opportunity to completely reset my eating.

Same as @TheAmazingShrinkingWoman - if I'm spending this much money I want to have all the resources possible to make it work.

I'm flaky. Strikes me that this isn't a miracle cure and requires effort, but the difference it makes is physical cues. If I'm 'dieting' I am constantly thinking about it - until I sabotage myself. The. The cycle of disappointment continues.

I'm hoping that all the tools you get with Juniper will keep me interested in getting fit and the medication will stop me obsessing and sabotaging.

ohforfoxs · 05/10/2024 11:37

Although I haven't actually started yet so it's all theoretical

ApolloandDaphne · 05/10/2024 12:29

Thank you those who have answered me. It's very helpful. I know it is my choice but my DH wants to make sure that I use a reputable supplier and that it is all medically sound. He worries about this sort of thing and I need him on my side.

ohforfoxs · 06/10/2024 15:48

Had my consultation (signed up on Tuesday I think it was) so just waiting for my deliver now

doodlydooo · 07/10/2024 04:12

I am so worried I am going to be ineligible! Had the prescriber message today asking to clarify a thyroid cancer question. My mum had it some years ago, I got tested for my thyroid after her diagnosis but was fine and have no thyroid issues. I replied but still not heard back.

Probably it's just a routine follow up question which you have now answered (hopefully to their satisfaction!). I guess they have to tick a lot of boxes.

doodlydooo · 07/10/2024 13:10

I'm so heartbroken. They said no. It feels like a job rejection..

This is their message:

I have carefully reviewed your information, and it seems Juniper may not suit your needs right now.
In your case, it appears that we cannot provide the extra clinical support you might need, especially considering the increased risks associated with Thyroid cancers.

However, this decision doesn't necessarily mean you're ineligible for treatment in other settings, so I suggest you speak with your usual GP to discuss other available options for you."

Oh no! So sorry. Can you try another provider?

TheAmazingShrinkingWoman · 07/10/2024 13:42

Or lie

DappledOliveGroves · 07/10/2024 13:47

@doodlydooo - have a look at Voy. I don't immediately recall what questions they asked, but they are very light touch and don't require access to GP records.

Snozzlemaid · 07/10/2024 13:56

Don't lie, but I would definitely try another pharmacy.

I've not tried them myself but Oushk always come out favourably when you might need to discuss your health history before they will prescribe.

Can anyone tell me if they received a confirmation email when they placed their order? I ordered this morning and haven't had a peep. I would've at least expected an email. I'm worried I've been scammed!

doodlydooo · 14/01/2025 21:07

I didn't go with Juniper in the end. I went with Voy, answered all their questions truthfully and was accepted. I do find their additional serviced to be a bit "meh" though and it all seems very bot powered or AI generated messages.

You would have created an account with Juniper when you filled out their online consultation? I'd just log in and check that your order is there and being processed. They will need to review it and approve it before sending anything out to you.

So I did! Forgot about that! Thanks, il have a look.

JoanCollinsDiva · 14/01/2025 21:19

Thanks SilenceInside

I checked and its fine. I'm actually impressed I managed to remember which email and password I used as I didn't write it down - my memory is terrible!

Same with juniper tbh. I don't need advice on what to eat, but I did think I might need advice from a pharmacist. When I did the responses were all very cut and paste and unimpressive.
Might as well have gone with the cheapest.
