Did Mounjaro restart your period? Has it stopped?

Hi, I know it says everywhere that MJ affects contraceptives. I'd like to know if MJ restarted your period and if it eventually stopped and when?

I'm on desogestrel to stop periods and haven't had any in a while but I've just started spotting. I was expecting it and have no problems with that for now. I just want to know if it will stop at some point or if I need to go to the gp to increase the contraceptive dose to be more effective? (I can't go on any other contraceptive except oral ones).

I’m on the same pill and exactly the same thing happened. I was fine on 2.5mg but 5mg has been horrendous. It never lasts longer than a day or so but the period pains start up again and there’s the spotting.

Ive been on it for a few years and never had breakthrough spotting before

Thank you @MelainesLaugh I agree, the cramps were horrendous a day before the spotting started but it's stopped now and I'm sort of expecting to start again when I increase the dose or who knows whenever it would feel like showing up again.

I’m on desogestrel too. Mounjaro can effect the contraceptive efficacy of oral contraceptives, especially when you first start or have just gone up a dose. I’m using condoms as well just in case.

In terms of the spotting, my bleeding has increased since starting it, but it’s not heavy, and isn’t really bothering me.

I hadn’t had a period since May, so assumed menopause was properly kicking in.
Then 2 weeks after my first MJ 2.5mg dose, period suddenly arrived and it’s different. No heavy clotting (sorry tmi) and it’s dragging on and on, not over in 5 days like before.

Is this a side effect if you’re around menopause age?

I’ve been on desogestral for 5 years and not had a period ; after 5 days of taking my first dose of mounjaro I started to bleed . I didn’t do my research so was a little shocked to have a period . I’ve taken my second dose and still bleeding; hoping it will stop soon.
