Mounjaro - I'm amazed!

Started on Mounjaro 2.5mg 2 weeks ago (after an abortive first attempt due to faulty Kwikpen...take my advice; don't buy from Superdrug!).

I genuinely believed that I'd notice no difference on such a small dose, and that it would merely prime my body for the 'proper' doses to kick in. I was wrong...

I'm at the end of week 2 of 2.5mg and have lost half a stone! I'm not hungry, not constantly thinking about food, and not experiencing any cravings. Have cut my portion sizes down considerably and am feeling great!

Wondering if I'll even need to go up to 5mg?

That is amazing. I am waiting for mine to arrive today. I hope to be able to maintain at a 5mg dose. But that might be incredibly naïve seeing I haven’t even started yet😂

@Bellyblueboy i haven’t gone above 5mg in 5 months. Lost almost 3 stone. My neighbour only tolerated 2.5mg and lost 2 stone over a number of months

Good news! I started 2.5mg 2 days ago and am feeling quite different. Not clawing at the fridge, not really hungry between meals, quite enjoying food but not desperate for more. So far it's very impressive- and if it's placebo, I believe in the placebo effect so that's fine. Looking forward to seeing how the first month goes, hope I get results like yours.

I am on the same dates as you, I take dose 3 tomorrow and have also lost 7lbs. I do find the effects get weaker by day 5 so am going to give 5mg a go and see if it helps with that!

Does it stop your stomach rumbling? I can cope with feeling hungry but if I fast then my stomach rumbles so loudly at work. I end up eating purely so I can sit through a meeting without embarrassing growling from my tummy.

I’m maintaining now and am fine on 2.5. I have had problems with binge eating all my life and if I have to stay on this forever I don’t care. I save hundreds on what I was spending on food £150 a week.

🤞 it keeps working for us both 🥰

My advice is only ever go up when you feel that suppression/weight loss isn't optimal, and then take it easy going up the doses - if you responded well to 2.5 mg. I would buy the 5 mg pen next anyway though and click count to 2.5 mg, so you have the option of going up mid-month if you wish.

I've just taken my 15th injection and I'm on 3.75 mg now (45 clicks of 5 mg pen), when that isn't enough I will up to 4.2 mg (50 clicks of 5 mg pen).

It’s different for different people, remember that.

I’m up to 7.5 and have lost only 3kgs since 6th July. I have very little appetite suppression and lots of food noise still

Kaffiene · 21/09/2024 13:20

Just done my 11th 2.5mg injection and have lost 20lbs. So happy to be loosing slow and steady. I am really trying to improve my relationship with food so didn’t want to move up the doses unless I have to. I get hungry but it’s manageable. The big difference is being able to have a small bit of something that I crave rather than being unable to stuff myself until I feel sick.
