Did your injection site make a difference to the effect of Mounjaro?

Hi just wanted to ask where have you injected Mounjaro and if you've tried other areas, did you feel any difference afterwards? I've seen some people say you get less side effects depending on where you injected so I want to read people's actual stories.

I've just started today and injected in my tummy. Hardly felt a pinch by the way which is good.

I've had no side effects and I've injected both on thighs and abdomen

Thanks for responding. Glad to know it hasn't affected you either way.

More bruising on the thighs.

I’ve injected in thigh twice and stomach 13 times - based on that limited sample I would say no difference with side effects. After a few weeks I started having an injection site reaction though - that was worse with the thigh, last time it was 10 cm+ across and double ringed. I’m sticking to stomach now.

Wow thanks all. I intend to stick with the stomach - especially now Ive made this thread -so hopefully no reaction or bruising like the thighs.

I have more fat in my stomach than my thighs so think I get less bruising when I inject in my stomach.

There was a clinical paper recently, only a small study so difficult to draw definite conclusions but they measured blood levels after injection in different sites. That suggested stomach gave highest levels, then back of arm and, finally, the thigh.

I usually inject into my stomach but have tried thigh twice. Both times it stung more and I think was a bit less effective. I tried my arm once but found it very difficult to inject and depress the plunger one handed so the needle slipped out and I lost a spray of it. Not doing that again!

That's interesting. I figured when people on another thread said they had fewer side effects injecting anywhere else but stomach, that stomach then would give more results (even if more side effects). I decided to take the high results and side effects than low results and fewer side effects.

Hopefully the side effects won't be too bad for me but stomach makes more sense to me because I feel it goes right to work. Hahaha may not work like that but it's how I rationalised it.

My daughter had bad reactions with stomach..
Gastritis.
She now does arm.
I do thing.. no problems.

PutOnYourRedShoesAndLetsDance · 19/09/2024 23:13
  • My thigh ( not thing 🤦‍♀️).
MounjaroHereICome · 19/09/2024 23:14

Oh that's awful. I can imagine it works differently for everyone depending on health conditions too. I probably won't be able to do arm as the pp said.
