Keeping mounjaro in drawer

So none of my family know I'm taking mounjaro and I read it can be kept out of the fridge as long as it's under 30degrees so that's what I've done. Is anyone else doing the same? I'm now utterly paranoid that it's not going to work (2nd dose just taken today)

Yep, I do. Lost 47lbs since mid May so it's definitely working! If you take the 'extra' dose, it's still only 28 days after opening so it's still good to use.

I keep mine in my bathroom drawer after I've started it.

I bought a climate control pouch for mine as I was travelling somewhere hot this summer, you can use one of those if you're worried. I got one from a brand called BreezyPacks because it was TSA approved and didn't need a cool pack, but loads of others are available.

Can you store unopened one's that way?? Cos they arrive chilled.

Yeah it can be stored anywhere as long as it's under 30degrees. I used mine pretty much as soon as it arrived, then popped it in my drawer

I was told under 30 degrees but the leaflet says under 23 degrees, either not a problem in the UK at this time of year.

Unless advice has recently changed, they should be stored in fridge until opened.

Hi I’m about to start monjaro but I’m having yag surgery next week. Is it safe to start useing ?

You need to check with whoever is doing the surgery. I don’t know what “yag” is but if it involved a general anaesthetic then that might be an issue.

@rattai @WhereisthewineNo you can’t. Unopened pens need to be kept between 2-8 degrees or you start using up the 30 day limit.

Unopened pens must be in the fridge. Once started, they can be out of fridge for 30 days of use period.

@Chellbel I would assume you've been given some notes or guidance about the preparation and recovery from this surgery? From what I can tell, as a non-HCP, looking online at various places that do YAG surgery and their patient notes, it says that there's no restrictions on a patient's normal routine either before or after, so it would seem likely to me that you can take Mounjaro and carry on doing so on. But I would check with the people who are going to do the eye surgery, to be certain.

im very confused over storage about monjaro, mine was delivered Saturday morning and is still in the packaging in my bedroom cupboard does this mean I can not put it in the fridge now, if so will I still be able to use it

@Chellbel you should have put it in the fridge straight away. Unused pens must be refrigerated all the time. You can only store the pen at room temperature once you have started using it, because at that point it's going to expire after 30 days anyway whether it's in the fridge or not.

When were you planning on taking the first injection?

@Chellbel as long as you plan to do the first injection soon, you should be fine to be able to do the 4 injections from the pen within the 30 days given Saturday as the start of that 30 days, and the pen is fine to stay out of the fridge for those 30 days.

When you get your next pen, which will usually be before you finish the current pen, put it in the fridge until you are ready to start using it.
