Periods and ovulation

Hello,
I’ve been on mounjaro since March I plan to stop mounjaro this October and continue eating healthy and exercising as I don’t feel I need to lose more weight. It’s been a wonder drug for me and I’m feeling ready to go it alone.

im normally like clockwork regarding my periods….28 days, ovulation on day 13 and 14. I’m also very aware of when I’m ovulating due to my body and discharge.
however since being on mounjaro my cycle is now around 42 days and I’m certain I’m not ovulating 😪

I’ve had two miscarriages last year and want to ttc towards the end of the year (I’m having support from the miscarriage unit) but petrified I have messed up my fertility!

has anyone experienced the same issue and regained their periods and ovulation cycle? I’m looking for other women who might be able to shed some light on this.

thank you so much for reading xx

I've had a 26 day cycle for at least two years (maybe up to five) and before that a regular 28 day cycle.

I spotted this week, just two weeks into this cycle and last night my period started fully - just 17 days after it started last time.

I'm 51 though, so this could be completed unrelated to MJ (I've been on it for 13 weeks now) and just perimenopause. However, my friend (nearly 51 and 6 weeks on MJ) has had her periods return after thinking they had stopped due to menopause. Again, could just be randomly related to our age/menopause but...

Sorry, can't answer your question but just wanted to say that yes, it seems to mess with reproductive hormones in some way. I would very much doubt it would affect fertility long term when off MJ though.

Thank you so much for replying with a really detailed answer. I am glad it’s not only me.
I would guess it’s temporarily messed up my hormones but no long term damage 🤞

I think it will right itself when you come off the injections. Remember that you need to wait at least 3 months from your last injection before ttc as it takes that long to come out of your system.

Thank you for saying this 💓 that’s given me a little confidence
Ive had bloods taken and lots of tests at the miscarriage unit and I have to wait 12 weeks before try again so the timing works out well. X
