Hi - I am a point where I am so miserable about my weight and it’s time to take the Voy route.

I feel utterly embarrassed to ask but is it difficult to inject yourself? I’m nervous about not about the pain of a needle but putting it, do you have to check for air bubbles, is it easy to see that you’ve put correct amount in?

Is it easy to administer it?

I’d be very very grateful for any help.

Don’t be nervous. It’s really easy and not painful. Just follow the detailed instructions step by step.
I was nervous and afterwards breathed a sigh of relief as it was so much easier than I imagined.

It's incredibly easy.
If there are air bubbles you hold it upright and tap so they go to the top, then you prime before each dose by just twisting the pen two clicks and pushing the plunger. A very small amount should come out the needle to test all is working okay.
Air bubbles aren't a problem anyway as you're injecting subcutaneously not into a vein.
You then twist the pen all the way round to number 1. This is quite a long way, I thought I must have missed it the first time.
Insert the needle into your chosen site, I've always done stomach as I have so much fat there.
Push the end of the pen until the dial is all the way back to 0. Keep it inserted for a count of at least up to 5 then remove and you're done.
It's painless, you honestly don't feel the needle, it's so fine.
I can only feel the pen up against my skin, that's all.

There are many main Mounjaro threads to read or ask questions on. It's a great community on here, so supportive.

Good luck if you go ahead.

I was very nervous to start with.. never injected myself before, no idea what I was doing.. but its really easy. Have a look on YouTube and watch a video, just search mounjaro pen. . And read the instructions that come with it and you will be fine..

Also there is no pain really, but you may get a small bruise after, I did..

Just to add, when looking for videos to watch, make sure they are of the UK pen as the US one is different 😁 If you have TikTok, there are a number of posters who have videos of them doing their jabs such as vikki miss mounjaro and mounjaro charlie. Good luck!

Injecting for the first time can be scary, both the needle and injecting yourself with a medication. Injecting rather than taking a tablet/pill seems more serious.

If you have answered your prescribers questions honestly you will be approved for use. Then just make sure you understand and follow the instructions (watch some videos first on how to use the pen and inject). The first 2.5mg pen is a small starter dose to get your body used to it and you'll gain confidence with how your body reacts to it as you go.

Incredibly fine needle you barely feel it.

You twist it a tiny bit to the first mark then press to squirt and that gets rid of any air and makes sure it's working. Then you just twist as much as you need for your dose, gently inject and press down the button. When it's all the way pressed in you count to 10 then pull the needle out.

It's really simple and painless.

I was terrified of injections and kept on putting it off until my other half was home for the weekend. Just in case something went wrong. I was also desperate to do something about my weight and tired of constant food noise in my head.
Go for it. I wish I did it sooner. The needle is tiny and you barely feel anything.
