About to start Wegovy - anyone else?

My online prescription from Boots has been approved and I'm able to collect tomorrow.

I had a gastric band in 2016 which initially worked but once I fell pregnant in 2018 I had it 'emptied' and despite it being refilled I've lost all restriction.

Am anxious about starting the injections so thought I'd ask on here if anyone else is starting out on this Wegovy journey....

I'm 100kg and BMI of 38 Sad

I do have a question, why Wegovy over Mounjaro?
I'm not clued up on Wegovy as I looked at numbers and thought Mounjaro was the better choice (not saying it is) x

I’m about to start too. I also went through Boots, it’s been approved and am awaiting a message to collect.

I’m 50, on HRT and the weight has slowly crept up since having my first dc 16 years ago. Every time I lose some weight, I feel great. But it slowly goes back on and more.

I am the heaviest I have ever been. 93kg with a BMI of 33.

The online doctor assessed that I wasn’t suitable for MJ as I have had a thyroid op in the past. So Wegovy is the best option.

I must admit I am nervous particularly about the possibility of it not working!

Yes, I know that feeling! I collected mine today but am going to wait until Monday to start the injections. Been making sure to read through everything and watch the video instructions.

Just saw this.

Um, no particular reason for me other than it starts off slightly cheaper (through Boots anyway) and it's been on the market for longer so the side effects have been more observed than MJ.

Personally I'm not fussed either way but Wegovy was recommended to me to try first and seems to have better results over a shorter period than MJ.

If it doesn't work for me I'm not averse to switching.

How’s it going @feelingsicknow? I picked up my prescription yesterday and am trying to work out the best day to start. Hope all is going well with you.

Hey! So I'm on week 2 of the injection. First week zero symptoms, this week... a lot of diarrhoea! I'm only on Day 3 of week 2 so I'm having to up my water intake significantly to counteract the D. Was surprised how quickly I felt the appetite suppressant effect kick in.

I’m on Day 4 of week 1. Yesterday, I thought I was starting to feel a reduction in snacking cravings but wasn’t sure if it was just wishful thinking!

Today, breakfast as normal and then realised that I hadn’t even thought about lunch. Just tried to eat some scrambled eggs and a crumpet but I’m just not hungry. Not a bit. I’ve eaten half and feel completely full. Surely it doesn’t kick in this quick!

No side effects apart from feeling slightly queasy.
