Voy medication intro - disaster

I purchased from Voy on Sunday, could only find positive stories about them. My pen arrived yesterday, warm, the ice blocks had melted. I've been feeling so anxious about it I put it in the fridge and though I'll deal with it tomorrow (today). I had a meeting scheduled for 12.30, what they call a medication introduction, it's on the meet app. I can't log on, when I go on meet it says I need a code. They haven't sent me one. I've messaged and re arranged but still nothing. I went to call them today at half 4 to get a message that says they are closed till 5. I'm so worried now about taking it. Are they a scam? Why am I the only person who seems to have had a bad experience. And their website seems full of errors also but I have been overlooking this. Aswell as their facebook page, is it me or is that a bit strange? I think after having these things happen to me I'm getting paranoid about it all now.

The pen can still be used for 30 days after coming out of the fridge. It's your first one so that will get all your doses if you take one per week.

I never had a intro meeting but yes that's not great, boy have a good reputation I believe so if you can varify you bought from them then it's fine.

Perhaps other voy customers can help with the customer service issues.

Thanks for replying, that makes sense then, thanks for putting my mind at ease, just means I need to take it asap then I guess. Eek!

I had an awful experience with voy.

I signed up, took a dose and was amazed. Joined the support call and she, essentially, pushed me to say I was binge eating 3+ times a week and when I said no said she didn't believe me. 24 hours later they contact me to say my prescription had been cancelled and I had to stop using the pen as they didn't believe they could support me. They offered me a very expensive CBT course with the promise I could try again at the end of that course.

No official diagnosis, they just said they wouldn't prescribe to me again. I've been to multiple doctors and a psychologist and never been diagnosed with an eating disorder. I went to bolt and got a prescription straight away.

Voy said they'd refund me if I sent the pen back. I never got told how to, and got two emails begging for me to rejoin. I eventually got them to admit I didn't have an eating disorder and I got a refund, but for the price I think it's a massive scam!! They prey on those who are vulnerable

Voy aren't a scam, assuming you ordered from the genuine Voy website. Presumably you had to send them photos and fill out a detailed consultation before being approved?

A warm pen is not ideal, but as the PP has explained it's ok as it's your first pen you can use it straightaway and be able to use it within the 30 days.

For me, I don't see the need for frequent online chats and for the sort of fairly intensive support that providers like Voy seem to want to offer.

Exactly, I read so much about them so have been so disappointed. I presume it's genuine. Yes, had to answer all the questions, send photos, I've downloaded the app. Ive just read how someone else also had their weight set at a ridiculously high level aswell to begin, I had the same aswell.
I do want that added support and am happy to pay the extra for this as I am really nervous.

I have been with Voy die nearly 2 months now and had a generally good experience.

I have just cancelled my subscription as their customer service has not been very helpful and I decided I didn't not need the level of support that they offer so was no longer willing to pay the premium price.

When I started, there was no 'medication introduction' call and I have been pretty much left to my own devices!

If you want to get started, watch the video on the app, read the instructions and don't worry.

Oushk are one to look at if you want a more personal service (I realise I keep saying this and yet I do not use them😂)

I’m with voy and can’t fault them. It’s been a few months but I think I had a link in my emails to join the meeting. Have you checked your spam folder? If you ring then they are very helpful. I do everything over WhatsApp now but think you need the intro meeting first.

Meds will still be fine to use.

WithASpider · 06/09/2024 13:43

I've just received my first pen from voy after changing from Zava.
Thankfully they've been helpful so far but my starting weight was logged at over 1,300 kg! That's 178 stone!

We'll see what happens next, I don't really need support from them but the discount was good.

Yes I have the link, but it doesn't work. I wonder has anyone actually had a video call with them at all? So many people seem to not need the support which is fine but for me, without an initial discount they will be the most expensive provider, happy to pay the extra if I'm being given the extra support....

Sorry I’ve only just seen this as I’m on holiday. I had a video call on my phone lasted about 20 minutes and I have to be honest the coaching has been really helpful for me. Made me recognise a lot of negative patterns with food and gave me confidence in my approach to healthy eating. I did toy with changing due to price but have stayed as they have been so good to deal with. Sorry to hear you’re having problems as it hasn’t been my experience at all.

Have they sorted it for you? They are definitely not a scam. I am 8 weeks in and just received my 3rd pen and have had weekly check ins and talks with my coach.

BatFacedGirlll · 08/09/2024 20:57

What support are you looking for and what are you nervous about?

Genuine questions btw! Not being snarky

Aniakal · 18/09/2025 11:56

Hi all
Can you advise how can I cancel the prescription after 2 months?

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 18/09/2025 12:04

@Aniakal there used to be a button to click to cancel but tbh things have probably changed as I haven’t used them in over a year now.

Rummage about on the site, maybe look for FAQs? If all else fails, message them!

Aniakal · 18/09/2025 12:36

Thank you

RomanFruit · 18/09/2025 14:29

Sorry you haven’t had a great first experience! I’ve been using Voy, too.

Didn’t have any problems with the medication intro call (which was more like a webinar with Q&A), and have found the 121 calls with their coaches useful, even though they’re constantly changing staff! I like their app, too.

Customer service has been a bit hit and miss when I’ve wanted to change doses, but always managed to get there in the end.

It hasn’t been seamless, but overall okay on balance! From talking to others, I don’t think any provider’s perfect, which is a shame given how much we’re all paying, but probably reflective of how quickly the demand for WLIs seems to be growing - they’re struggling to keep up.

I started with Voy about 14 months ago so before they started the introductory calls but I had a coaching call on Monday which worked fine. I'd selected the otion to use Google meet and they sent me an email with a link. The details were also available in the Voy app. When it was time for the call I just clicked on the link and turned on microphone and camera. I've never had medication turn up warm, even during a heatwave. When I've had questions they've responded quickly to emails so I'm sure if you contact them someone will reply within a day or two. Good luck.
