Felt so ill

I had my 2nd 2.5 jab on Friday. No side effects until this evening. Felt an overwhelming sense of nausea which came over me really quickly, I dropped to the floor and thought I was going to pass out. Physically unable to stand up and started sweating profusely, felt disorientated and very ill. Knew I had to get to the bathroom quickly as I felt a diarrhoea episode was coming on. Eventually made it to the bathroom, just in time. The whole episode lasted about 30 minutes. I feel fine now, just a bit shaken up.
Apart from a couple of boiled eggs for lunch I haven't eaten anything else today as I haven't felt at all hungry, but I've drunk about 2 litres of water.
Has this happened to anyone else?

Should have said, it is Mounjaro.

Coincidentally, yes. I had my 2nd 2.5mg jab on Thursday and had to bolt to the bathroom, then felt awful for about an hour after.
I think I'm okay for now but decided I'd mention it to my coach just in case, just waiting for a reply now.

I should speak to a medical professional about it too but I'm worried they'll tell me to stop Mounjaro. I really don't want to stop yet.

I had the same on my second jab. I'm now on my third and that's been fine.
I think I wasn't eating enough.

Contact your coach, they are the best people in this situation

I was hospitalised after the second jab, not saying you will be of course but please be honest with them, side effects should be taken seriously. This was probably just a one off as you haven't eaten much- 2 boiled eggs and some water is not enough to sustain an adult.

soupfiend · 03/09/2024 08:20

They may not suit you OP or you might want to try to see if the side effects for you dissipate.

Many medications have side effects that your body then gets used to

You also need to ensure you do eat, just a couple of boiled eggs all day is no good for you

Do you mind me asking what the problem was? I’m awaiting delivery of my first pen and a bit anxious about side effects.

Reassuring to hear that your 3rd jab was ok.
Hoping yesterday was a one off because I don't want to experience that again.

So today I've felt much better, just a bit battered and bruised where I collapsed yesterday! I've taken on board the fact that I should have eaten more food but it's difficult to force yourself to eat when your appetite has been so suppressed isn't it?

It is difficult to eat when you have absolutely no appetite.
I was sceptical about the drug as I've always said that you're is that I don't need to be hungry to eat, but it takes away any desire to eat at all.
I'm going for little and often during my third week and it seems to suit me better. I've bought some sweets too in case my blood sugar drops too low and I feel ill again.

Christ wax it worth it, to be hospitalised ?

crumbsonmyface · 07/01/2025 22:23

Hope you're feeling better! It could be because you didn't eat enough, but mounjaro is also notorious for lowering blood sugar, so it's worth making sure yours hasn't dipped too low, as the symptoms can be similar.

Gettingslimmer · 08/01/2025 06:27

If you only had two eggs all day, this will be why. Low blood sugar, no cals. It will make you faint, feel nauseas etc.

if you cannot eat to this extent you need to come off the medication as you will be very seriously ill indeed.

FlappingMadly · 08/01/2025 20:17

Hi have you had your blood sugar tested?
You really must eat more.
