@MargoLivebetter yes this is exactly it for me too. On previous diets it’s been a struggle maintaining a deficit for so long - I’m short so my calories need to be low to lose. I’d always be making sure I used every last calorie and would often go over - but less than 100 so it’s okay! Tedious. Finding none of that on MJ - I eat my calories and am satisfied with what I’ve had. I’m often leaving food on the plate now too, I don’t like the waste so am adjusting my portions accordingly.

Hi! I’m short too and really resonated with this. I went through a phase of thinking I’d gain weight regardless of what I ate. The calories you have to play with when eating at a deficit as a short person are next to nothing and so restricted

I really agree that it’s weird how the suppression varies. Week 3 of 2.5 it was practically gone for me. By week 4 it was fairly strong some days, and more so towards the end of the week than the beginning.

This week has been 3.75, the first day or two I felt a bit disappointed like it hadn’t made much difference at all and kicking myself for not just going for 5. Then I got the sickness thing and had a day and a half of not really being able to eat due to that. Yesterday felt like a normal ish day - bit peckish at times, able to eat a fairly large dinner still fancied some snacks later although able to stop myself. Today, which is day 6 and right before I’m due to inject again, I’ve struggled to eat much at all. Some porridge with DD at breakfast went down quite well, but then really didn’t want anything at lunch - forced 2 eggs and a bit of cucumber down, planned yoghurt and berries after but couldn’t make myself eat it. Ate my fish at dinner and forced myself to finish the broccoli as I know I need some greens, was looking forward to my new potatoes but just didn’t want them.

I’ve just been able to eat a bit more as I was way below on calories so had 2 oatcakes and some nut butter. Don’t like eating so late but I also needed to up my protein and wanted something to sprinkle some psyllium husk on as I’m getting constipated again! Had my collagen in a cup of mint tea too, as that’s a good source of protein although I tend to think of it as not ‘real’ protein - it’s something anyway!

MargoLivebetter · 08/09/2024 22:11

It is really amazing the difference it makes @SilverSprings510 . I've dieted since I was 11, so that's on and off for 44 years and it's always been such a grim struggle requiring ironclad willpower, which is exhausting. None of that with MJ. Sometimes I get to the end of the day and check my calorie log and think damn I'm going to have to force down a yoghurt or two to hit 1000 calories. I'd never thought I'd have been saying that!!!

Hope you feel better soon @eeeeeeeee

weaseleyes · 08/09/2024 22:24

@Redlightbulb I similarly found wfh difficult. Prior to the pandemic, I always walked to work, but afterwards I would find myself working sometimes 12 hours a day at a screen, and I didn't take the advice to walk seriously enough. Before I tended to pile weight on over winter and lose it the rest of the year, but those two years of the pandemic I just piled it on and it never came off. I found myself about 5 stone heavier. Some of it was definitely eating more through working next to the kitchen, but I think a lot of it was being sedentary and quite depressed. I found myself with all sorts of health issues and started walking every day.

I listened to a walking podcast of ten minutes a day and started off just trying to do 5000 steps daily - way less than I used to do. It nearly killed me, but I persevered and use an app to track. I moved the steps up in very gradual increments so I now do 9000 a day (as a minimum - I may do more) and it's made such a difference to my mental health and various physical issues. It doesn't make the weight come off, but staying still seems to keep it piling on! Just set yourself a tiny target, like a number of steps or just five minutes, but make the vow to do it every day. I really felt better for living up to something small I set for myself.

Wingingit11 · 09/09/2024 03:17

@weaseleyes that’s great advice thanks. What walking podcast did you listen to or just any podcast to keep you company?

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/09/2024 08:15

That's great people noticed

No one has with me and 2st (1.1 alone and .13 with mj)

@Blondeshavemorefun my weight loss is a few pounds over 6 weeks but working overall to look better so had hair cut, better make up, brighter clothes and not just black - so think they noticed those things more than specifically weight loss!

Wingingit11 · 09/09/2024 07:29

@MooFroo I think that so much to people feeling they have “licence” to comment nowadays - that you’ve visably had a glow up rather than just looking slimmer (which is difficult to navigate mentioning)!! Also as others have said - the better you feel about yourself, the more confident your poise etc!

CremeDeSudo · 09/09/2024 07:32

I've had a woosh!

I'm usually a daily weigher, and this last week I've been fluctuating around the same 0.5kg, but I haven't been v well, so I was aware there would be inflammation going on.

I didn't weigh yesterday, but did this morning, and I'm a whole kg lighter than two days ago!

So pleased 😁😁

GoodLuckBabe · 09/09/2024 08:06

Very excited this morning to break a stone barrier, even though I could well be back up out of it tomorrow (and certainly will be later today!).
SW 17st 4lb
CW 15st 13
I injected last night, and my weigh in yesterday morning was 16st 1lb. Does anyone else notice a pound or two come off literally the day after jabbing? I know MJ doesn’t melt away fat but it definitely does something that has a bit of an immediate effect. Or helps the body rearrange itself in some way so a loss shows up on the scales?

GoodLuckBabe · 09/09/2024 08:07

@CremeDeSudo that’s amazing, love a whoosh!

A pretty big NSV for me this week - I'm due some exam results tomorrow. Usually I'd be massively stress eating by now, unable to control myself. None of that at all. I'm just not fancying food at all (although I am now having some crazy dreams and got a headache instead)

Motnight · 09/09/2024 08:15

Good morning everyone. I think that I have lost around 14 lbs in just under 6 weeks. Not entirely sure as my scales are rubbish and I am also trying not to become obsessed with weighing myself.

My DH has noticed that I have lost weight. My clothes are looser but not incredibly so. Although my underwear fits much better 😬. I am feeling for the first time in years as though I am in charge of my own health and I can make positive decisions.

I have some special occasions coming up that involve quite a lot of eating out. I am trying to get myself in the right mindset for that - I want to make positive choices but still enjoy my food.

Good luck for your results tomorrow 🙂

AugustSlippedAwayIntoAMoment · 09/09/2024 08:17

@Motnight thank you! I've accepted that one probably failed (it's a tough exam and the questions are designed to catch you out), just trying to reconcile myself with the fact that even if I do fail, it's not the end of the world and I'm not going to let it knock me off course with my mj journey

I have just done my 4th dose and have so much left in the pen! I'm starting to think I haven't been doing this correctly!

@Wingingit11 I listen to a podcast called Walking is Fitness. It's an amiable American man who records the podcast daily whilst walking, so I feel if he can do it daily so should I! I then tend to listen to other podcasts subsequently. There's a link here: https://walkingisfitness.com/podcast/

Podcast - Walking is Fitness

Walking is Fitness is a daily ten-minute podcast that'll provide you with a boost of motivation. Even more important, Walking is Fitness can help you stay

think some people have bought additional needles to extract this and use it as a bonus dose. There is extra for when you make sure there is no air in the needle

That's the "bonus" dose. It's there for priming etc. some people extract it and use it, some don't. I did just out of interest and mine was bang on 0.6ml, some people get 1ml out and use it to bridge the jump from 2.5 to 5

I can relate to WFH. And I piled on more during lockdown. A friend wrote a book during it! And got published! And I just got fatter. Also hear ya up thread about short. I’m 5.4 and high waisted. There is nowhere for my stomach to go and I don’t look good - you know, some women wear their weight well. Not me. I’m starting to understand how many calories I need vs what online tells me.

Anyhoo. I am now 3 emphatic kg down. So 1 kg a week - I think that’s okay. I’m the weight pre lockdown which makes me feel strangely emotional.

I don’t have nausea except when I exercise. Last time I walked back with shopping I had horrible reflux and nauseas. So tried this morning to exercise first thing with the hope nothing in my tummy would help. It worked in that I could workout fine and felt good but my protein shake after was v v hard to get down. I lay down after showering and it’s a lot better.Am trying to shake it off cos I’ve a bloomin expensive Greek lesson soon which I can’t miss.

Mum0ntherun · 09/09/2024 10:12

Just starting my 3rd week - not noticing the 9lbs down as I’ve a fair bit to lose (but so pleased) I suspect water the first week and now weight gradually going. HOWEVER, the one place I didn’t think I’d see weigh loss is my darn wrist 😳😆 - who’d a thought. A bracelet that I always wear has been tight for months and now it’s moving easily and I can get two fingers under it. I’ll take the wins - even the odd one 😁. Have a great Monday losers 😘

Mine looked like that so I used a syringe yesterday to extract it. I was a bit disappointed it was only 0.62 in the syringe as I was hoping to use it as a step up to 5.

FlappingMadly · 09/09/2024 11:03

Some amazing losses and NSVs, woohoo!
i’m fairly sure my toes look thinner 🤣 and my bra fits really well, it’s totally smooth, iykwim.

MabelSpan · 09/09/2024 11:12

Hi everyone!
Congratulations on all your loses and nsv😁

Weigh day and bonus dose day for me.
SW 20st 3lbs
CW 19st 4.6lbs
TL wk4 12.4lbs
2.5mg wk 1 -7.4lbs, wk 2 no loss, wk 3 -2.4lbs wk 4 -2.6lbs

Suppression has been excellent and food noise non existent on 2.5mg with minimal side effects.
I treated myself to an all singing and dancing set of Renpho scales and a tape measure that all sync up and its been quite a revelation, in a not so good, but to be expected way! Knowing that I am made up of 44% fat is something I had enjoyed being ignorant of, but hey, it can only get better over the next 439 days, which is when I would like to hit my ultimate goal of 12 stone. I havent weighed that for 25yrs!
But my weight loss doesnt start to count for me until I hit 18st 12lbs which is what I weighed in December 2024. Then my next goal is 15 stone, which I weighed in 2014.

Overall I am really happy with my mj experience so far, just need to get the next 7lbs off to feel like I am finally losing weight!
I am going to extract my bonus dose later today and will report back.

@Redlightbulb I am another who needs to lose 8 stone to get to my ultimate goal. I have set a date of October 31st 2025 to reach it by.
I also work from home and am very sedentary through the day. I am a keen gardener so get a bit of exercise with that and as the weight comes off I will do more body weight exercises and weights. I also have a rowing machine which I used to love, but is currently buried in the shed somewhere! I must dig that out!

Usernamechangeforthis12 · 09/09/2024 11:17

Well done everyone on your losses.

I’m due to start week 6 today and first 5mg jab. However, I took the bonus last week, the whole lot, so about 3.75mg and had my best week. Still got great suppression so wondering whether to delay a day or so and then continue on 3.75mg?
Any thoughts?
