Hey @TheShellBeach i dip in and out of other threads. Stay!

I had my 3rd jab yesterday and don’t feel anything. Maybe fuller after eating but am not put off eating! I see comments about feeling horribly bloated but I’m just feeling pleasantly replete after, if I say so myself, a fab curry. Am thinking of bringing my 4th jab forward. My top definitely hangs lower so it seems there’s action in the background which is amazing.

FlappingMadly · 07/09/2024 21:48

@eeeeeeeee sorry you’re feeling rough. You must eat otherwise you’ll have no strength to recover and it’ll get harder and harder. Set timers for meals. Even just a hard boiled egg and and a tomato would do.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/09/2024 21:50

Oh @eeeeeeeee bless you. Some soup or even a protein milkshake

Thank you both, it’s the strangest feeling. I’ve just had a hot drink and some veggies.

I’ve lost 2kg this week alone, which came at a point where I was experiencing a slow down in losses! The wider impact of the cold & flu season combined with more people using MJ will be interesting. It definitely kicks off weight loss but not necessarily in a good way.

ChunkyMunky · 07/09/2024 22:17

Hope you feel better soon @eeeeeeeee

I was poorly a few weeks ago and had a couple of days in not managing to eat at all, it left me so drained and wiped out. Do keep your fluids up, and nibble something bland.

Pinkjenny · 07/09/2024 22:33

We've just been out for dinner and I had a prawn salad which I didn't finish. I managed two vodka and diet cokes (just, they'd gone flat I nursed them that long) but I can sense dh getting fed up of me not drinking already.

We are away at Anfield next weekend and I'm considering whether to jab on Sunday instead of Saturday so I don't ruin our day by being a big killjoy.

Thoughts anyone?

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/09/2024 22:44

A think a day late won't make a huge diff esp as end of week o start to feel peckish

Timetochange24 · 07/09/2024 22:44

@Rorpethy I've just taken jab 3 as well. I plan to go up to 5mg in the hope of sustaining the progress I'm already seeing. I've had very little suppression the last couple of days so feel that going to 5mg is probably the best use of the medication/money. But I'm also lucky not to have had significant side effects so feel confident to take that gamble. If I feel unwell on 5mg I'd be happy to step back to 2.5mg knowing that I can still feel the effect, even if that means it might be a longer journey ahead.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/09/2024 22:47

Had a Chinese with dd7. Much smaller portions then would usually have and I enjoyed and felt satisfied

Chicken noodles. Rice and small chicken hongkong

I've literally just been violently sick 🤮

Not sure why ? Too fatty ? I didn't eat loads

R.E.M. reading posts about takeaways and others felt ill after pizza or curry

Can foods be too rich? I haven't had one for maybe 6/8w

@ChunkyMunky Thank you so much x

are you feeling better now?

@Pinkjenny to be honest I’d keep going as you are, your husband should be supportive of you, not getting huffy. The least of your concerns should be “being a killjoy”. You don’t want to delay your injection just to allow yourself to overdo it, that might set you back. Plus you might still get a stomach ache or feel full quickly, there’s no guarantee you’ll have a pre-MJ appetite. I had really strong appetite suppression on week 4 of 2.5mg, it didn’t quite reduce as the week went on.

Pinkjenny · 07/09/2024 22:50

I know, I think maybe I will just carry on. Tough when life gets in the way!

eeeeeeeee · 07/09/2024 22:50

@Blondeshavemorefun I felt the same when I had a Chinese takeaway a few weeks ago, instant bowel movements. I’m not sure why, as I didn’t overeat, my body just couldn’t tolerate the type of food. It’s probably because it’s processed food. I okay when I had a green curry at a restaurant last week - but the food was of higher quality.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/09/2024 23:14

Guess it's a learning curve

I'm generally eating healthily

Eat similar stuff most weeks

Chicken and salad in pitta
Spag bol
Salmon and rice
Shepherd pie
Lamb sweet potato
Chicken salad
Jackets with tuna salad
Beans on toast

So first bad meal so to speak

I think dealing with others' expectations of us in terms of eating and drinking is going to be one of the challenges of losing weight in the first place and then maintaining it afterwards. I get that people want to share the fun of having a drink or dining out, but it shouldn't be at the expense of our health.

eeeeeeeee · 07/09/2024 23:35

I think if you want a drink, having shots are the way to go? My experience was it’s the volume of liquid that makes it difficult to drink glasses of alcohol. So if you need a buzz, just get it in the least voluminous way as you’re not going to be able to tolerate a cocktail or a glass of wine etc.

Everyone’s different though, sometimes I can’t even finish glasses of squash/juice. Love the taste but just get full quickly.

I’m vegetarian anyway, but since MJ I’m also trying to reduce carbs as that’s how I got obese to begin with lol. Bread, potatoes and pasta are my weaknesses

I had exactly the same reaction after eating crisps!

FlappingMadly · 07/09/2024 23:59

It’s a case of be careful what you wish for but I wish I had strong reactions. I made a chicken tikka masala curry tonight with cauliflower and chickpeas and thoroughly enjoyed it. No ill effects

eeeeeeeee · 08/09/2024 00:09

I have the Withings body composition scales. It says I’m dehydrated and shows changes to my body fat% and muscle mass, in line with what I thought was happening due to being poorly. Makes for interesting reading for sure

lookathatbookcase · 08/09/2024 00:15

BBQ with friends tonight (pretending autumn isn't here). Ate a pretty small amount, and sensibly, and no booze but still feeling rough now - possibly because it's injection day? Anything fatty or gluten-y seems to really screw me over, and I possibly wasn't careful enough about that. It really is a retraining exercise!

And @TheShellBeach please stay - it's great you're a little further along, like having a big sister or older cousin telling us what grown-up life is like. @eeeeeeeee hope you feel better, and can keep some food/liquids down!

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/09/2024 01:47

@Motnight where crisps are my weakness and wohid eat Daily x 2/3 sometimes

Think I've had 3 packets overall

But enjoyed

@FlappingMadly honestly you don't want to feel how I did - never been so sick in my life tonight

Stomach curdling downstairs and knew I wouldn't teach bathroom /upstairs so was throwing up in a plastic bag in the kitchen

Classy me

Again reminds me when preg and hg and would literally Chuck up in bags I used to carry with me

Just did my first 5mg jab, meant to take it yesterday but totally forgot!

Had a big family event yesterday and I looked good! More importantly I felt good, got complimented on how I looked and was happy to take photos - been a while since I felt like that.

Not had a huge weight loss going into week 6 now, but my face looks thinner, my body looks thinner - even though measurements aren’t changing much yet either which is weird.

FlappingMadly · 08/09/2024 07:49

@Blondeshavemorefun yes I sympathise.
Just angsting a bit..

Crisps are my kryptonite. Sometimes in the evenings when a stress popped into my head I would literally levitate and search out stashed big packets and mindlessly munch. Mucho thought going on here.

FlappingMadly · 08/09/2024 07:50

@MooFroo that’s great. What a boost! Yes I can relate to changes but scales not moving much yet.

MooFroo · 08/09/2024 07:56

Thanks @FlappingMadly ❤️ I was starting to stress about not losing as much as other seem to be in the first few weeks but keep telling myself I’m on my own journey so just seeing it through in my own way.

as long as i get healthier as i lose some weight that’s only a good thing x

AnnieMcFanny · 08/09/2024 08:04

@Choux that table was a good read. Thank you.
