Just had 3rd dose of 2.5mg.

SW- 13st11
CW- 13st 7
Last week was 7lbs down, this week 2lbs up, but still down 4lbs from 2 weeks ago, so happy about that😊. Some of it has to be fluid retention etc…My trousers are definitely feeling looser!! Will carry on as I’m going and cross fingers next weeks weight will be going down not up!

Also just ordered my 5mg pen.

weaseleyes · 07/09/2024 14:44

My 4th 2.5 jab has had quite an impact on me these last couple of days; I wasn’t really expecting it. Not quite the same level of appetite suppression as the 1st one, but not far off and felt latently queasy and a bit weak. It seems so random!

Addictedtobeauty · 07/09/2024 14:52

@AuntieDote and @ChunkyMunky i also look no different having lost just over a stone. It does make me wonder where it’s coming from- surely losing visceral fat would cause shrinkage in the abdomen? Thank you @TheShellBeach for giving some perspective. I’m grateful my weight is going in the right direction even if I can’t see the changes just yet,

Wingingit11 · 07/09/2024 15:34

@TheShellBeach how are you on 10mg as an august starter 🫣

I'm not an August starter.

I actually started in June, but never joined a thread until August.

JohnCravensNewsround · 07/09/2024 15:46

Just took my first 5mg dose. Last week had the runs, so have taken immodium at the same time.
Focusing on healthy eating. 100g of skyr first thing. Lunch is some cooked chicken/salmon and a bit of veg then 500 cal dinner followed by a bit more yoghurt.
The freedom from the head noise is great. Have stuck to it for a month without wavering. When I dish up, I put another portion in the freezer so I always have something in.

Wingingit11 · 07/09/2024 15:57

@TheShellBeach ah sorry - I thought this thread was August starters so obviously confused by the swift uppage !

Wingingit11 · 07/09/2024 16:12

@JohnCravensNewsround (love your username)
good luck 🙏 I’ve moved to 3.75 two days ago and been pretty knackered but stomach wise ok beyond some nausea yday so regretting not making the bold move to 5 now !

Am I going to be drummed out of the thread now?

🤣🤣🤣

Wingingit11 · 07/09/2024 16:20

@TheShellBeach not sure if that’s directed at me but as I said, I was simply confused by your dosage hence the question.

TheShellBeach · 07/09/2024 16:45

It's fine, I'm in the wrong thread. Sorry.

Thank you @TheShellBeach for giving some perspective. I’m grateful my weight is going in the right direction even if I can’t see the changes just yet,

Thing is, I took pictures of me in same vest and leggings and I definitely do look different, but it doesn’t show in my actual clothes yet. That’s fine.

I had a target of buying myself a lovely size 14 dress for our works Christmas meal but I’m not sure that may be a bit ambitious. I’d be happy to be a comfortable 16.

Mind you last year I lost a load of weight on slimpod - about 2 stone. I was an 18 when I started and still pretty much an 18 after I lost it - I think I’d maybe been in denial about how tight my clothes were or something! I did squeeze myself into some more generous 16s but realistically, I was an 18!

I also had a target dress, a 16, which I knew I’d worn before at that same weight I got down to, if not slightly heavier. Even though I got down to that again, the dress still looked horrible - the weight is clearly distributed very differently since having DD!

Pinkjenny · 07/09/2024 17:38

At least we're all the same. No one shopping for a new wardrobe just yet.

Usernamechangeforthis12 · 07/09/2024 17:50

@TheShellBeach - everyone is welcome here, we’re all on the journey together. Just some are at different points and so the thread is to support each other going through the weeks at about the same time. But there are others who didn’t start in August so it’s really not a problem.

@Addictedtobeauty @ChunkyMunky @AuntieDote - same here. I’m a stone down and really can’t tell. My clothes are no looser.

Im going to a wedding in November and have bought a lovely dress to wear. I’m usually a 16 but have bought it in a 12/14 and really hoping it’ll fit.

i think I may start couch 2 5k. Definitely need to up the movement!

@TheShellBeach you may be a little further in your journey but you are welcome here, same as anyone else is. Your advice and knowledge has been invaluable to me (and I'm sure others) so really don't want you to feel you need to leave us FlowersWine

Everything that witchDancer said. Shellbeach, I really value your posts.

Wingingit11 · 07/09/2024 18:56

Just to be clear in case it appears to @TheShellBeach or now others something I am not, I was only asking in curiosity how someone is on 10mg. The intention and I hope effect of my question was not to make @TheShellBeach feel unwelcome!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/09/2024 19:49

Obv aug thread is nicer /chattier then June 💕

Rorpethy · 07/09/2024 20:02

Just curious but, those of you who moved up to 5ml after 4 weeks of 2.5, was your decision based on lack of suppression or just because you wanted to follow the official schedule? If it was because of decreased suppression, when did that start?

I have taken my 3rd dose this morning and as you'll all know from my moaning, I'm still feeling totally rubbish and having really random side effects. Luckily I'm having quite good suppression at the moment, but I'm worried that it's going to wear off and I honestly don't think I'm going to be able to up my dose without being really ill.

On the plus side, I've lost between 8-10lb in 2 weeks. My scales are broken so I'm not sure on the exact weight.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/09/2024 20:14

I took as Was hungry and malteasergate and cashewgage

Plus read so often that 2.5 is the starter dose so body gets used to it

Plus 2.5 and 5 are the same price

OP posts:
Choux · 07/09/2024 20:42

@Rorpethy you may as well buy a 5mg as you could always use 2.5mg or 3.75mg doses from it by counting clicks.

I just added this table to another thread - someone has been ill for two months on 5mg but, instead of dropping back down to 2.5mg, bought a 7.5mg pen and is now considering giving up completely!

The advice in the table is to use 5mg as a way of assessing your tolerance to Mounjaro and reducing the dose if it's too much. I don't know what side effects you have had - if you are concerned then try 3 for a week then 3.5, 4 etc instead of jumping to 5.

You are losing well on 2.5mg. And plenty of people can do their whole journey on it. (Not me - I'm on 15mg. Don't chase me off the thread people!)

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/09/2024 20:45

A good chart @Choux

Seems weird 15 is a maintenance dose. Surely less would be better as body learns to not use it over time

OP posts:
MissFancyDay · 07/09/2024 20:58

@Rorpethy

I moved up to 5mg because I still had to fight food noise, especially in the evening, and I need that noise to quieten so that I can concentrate on nutrition and exercise.

I lost on average 2 lbs per week on 2.5mg which is the rate I would like, but had very few side effects so it seemed the obvious move.

Ohh guys I’m seriously unwell. I’ve come down with a full blown cold, and I must admit that MJ complicates things. I’ll try and explain it to you:

logically, my cold has made my sense of smell and taste go away. Theoretically I should be eating more nutrients than normal, and drinking more fluids than normal, to help my body fight the cold. Also theoretically I should feel tired.

however MJ has made my appetite go away, so combined with the lack of smell/taste, I have no desire to eat at all. I’m getting less nutrients than normal anyway because of the appetite suppression, and I can’t physically eat or drink more than MJ allows. As my body is also fighting the cold, I’m probably seriously dehydrated. And the weirdest bit is, I don’t actually feel it. I don’t feel hungry, dehydrated or tired because MJ kind of numbs that all. It’s weird.
