@NeedSomeAnswersPlease Haha, great minds think alike!

Bit annoyed it took me so long to realise that!🤣🤣🤣 from what I can tell a lot of people do 3.75 as their last dose so everything should be fine

Hi everyone 👋🏼

Just a quick question…how much exercise are you typically doing per week?

Thanks ☺️

I do what’s called functional fitness twice a week with my personal trainer. It’s the same as doing 2 CrossFit sessions per week. On top of that I also do two session of home based functional fitness per week that are shorter than my studio based ones but very effective. My PT loads them up to the app we use and and any new excercise is videod by him for me to copy. I also do workouts by Get Fit With Rick that are walking/dancing type things about 3 times a week and I have a general step target I try to reach in my normal daily life.

Im overweight but I’m very fit and when I’m on my studios instagram page as a stand alone post I get more views and likes than everyone else at the gym. And I’m quite often to be found on the instagram reels alongside the very scary fit people. The point being that even at 66 you can still exercise even if like me you’ve had cancer and recently had a knee replacement - it’s all about adapting your sessions and making excercise work for you.

AnnieMcFanny · 05/09/2024 17:13

I'm not sure whether they can do anything. As it isn't over the max weekly amount hopefully it isn't too dangerous just very unpleasant, but should seek medical advice

I’m not sure where I confused you but I obviously did so my aplogies - I took a dose of 3.75 which was my 4th dose of 2.5 plus some of what was left of my bonus dose.

AnnieMcFanny · 05/09/2024 17:16

TheShellBeach · 05/09/2024 14:53

@AnnieMcFanny

You've just injected 3 x the normal dose plus a bit more.
That's over 7.5mg in one go.

What possessed you to do that?

It's actually 7.91mg.

The dose from your pen is only 2.5mg in 0.6ml of MJ.

So you've had nearly 8mg in one go!

Edited

No. I haven’t. I took my 2.5mg dose plus some of my bonus dose which amounted to about 3.75.

it was my 4th dose from a 2.5mg pen. There wouldn’t have been enough in the pen to take what you think I’ve taken.

You said you'd injected 1.9ml of the medication.

AnnieMcFanny · 05/09/2024 12:09

Ye Gods. So I went to do the 4th dose of my 2.5 and my pen was broken. The plunger wouldn’t plunge and I’ve no idea why. I was at a loss what to do so I went and bought an insulin pen even though I am not comfortable with injections at all but I knew I had to get this 4th dose into me. Somehow, without any trying at all I was able to withdraw up to 100 on the syringe which I’m assuming meant a dose of .6 plus .4 =1.0.

This really confuses me because I thought I had to break my pen to get the extra dose but I know I never did that deliberately and I’m assuming that someone I accidentally damaged the pen on my last does.

Anyway, by now I was shaking but I decided - in for a penny in for a pound and I primed the syringe before injecting the 90 that was left which I think is .9 and one and a half doses of 2.5. It was painless. I didn’t even find it creepy but an hour later I’m still a bit shaky because I found the courage to do it. It really was a big deal for me.

Im. looking forward to seeing how I get on this week as im not really ready to go up to 5 yet. But maybe I just did 😂

I’m sorry but where did I say I’d taken 1.9 because I didn’t actually take that amount but I’d like to know anyway so as to not make the same mistake again when posting.

And I’m not sure there would have been enough left in an almost empty pen for me to be able to take that size of a dose anyway.

This was my fourth dose of 2.5 plus some of the bonus dose. I don’t know how I can make it any clearer. But thank you anyway for your advice but in this case it wasn’t necessary though I do understand that with you being a nurse you probably feel you have a duty of care to the posters here.

Anyway I’ve checked my post and I still can’t see the mention of 1.9.

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 05/09/2024 17:26

Not really sure it matters at the end of the day as long as you don't get bad side effects @AnnieMcFanny but it helps you know if you're ready for 5mg!

Hollietree · 05/09/2024 17:28

I’m mortified. I just went into Boots to purchase insulin syringes so that I can do my 4th Mounjaro dose tomorrow, including the bonus dose. I asked the lady at the pharmacy counter and she looked at me like a criminal, interrogated me on what I needed them for, and then told me that they don’t sell them. She looked at me like I was a druggie and then rushed off to whisper in the ear of her colleague!

FWIW I was dressed smartly after work, I was neat and clean looking, I’m in my 40s and had children with me. Absolutely mortified that they thought I was some kind of drug addict! 🙈

Anyone else experienced this??

AnnieMcFanny · 05/09/2024 17:32

@NeedSomeAnswersPlease thank you 😊. I’m all for learning about this process we’re going through so I’m happy to understand what it was I said that had some posters understanding I’d taken 3.75 and some posters not understanding what I’d taken. But how I was supposed to have got enough medicine to overdose on out of a pen that was already on dose number 4 is beyond me.

Some of the pens seem to be really tetchy, if it happened to me I'd be calling up for a refund 😅😂 I've done a half dose today to try and get myself ready for 5mg because I don't want to be poorly for the next couple of weeks n

Drug addicts don't always present the way you think.

It's easier to buy the syringes online.

AnnieMcFanny · 05/09/2024 17:38

I don’t live in the UK and I fully expected to not be given a syringe when I went to the pharmacy today when I found my pen was broken after I’d put the injection in and the plunger wouldn’t plunge. But I was given one and I can only suspect it’s the governments way of doing a clean needle program. I’m 66 though so it’s also possible the pharmacist thought I was diabetic.

TheShellBeach · 05/09/2024 17:40

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 05/09/2024 16:23

Hang on, @AnnieMcFanny said she'd injected 0.9ml? Isn't that just 3.75? Or am I getting it totally wrong? 1 dose is 0.6ml or 2.5mg, so if it's 0.9ml it's 3.75?

I was under the impression that she took the 4th dose plus the bonus, but I seem to have got that wrong. Sorry.

The bonus is about 0.9ml.

I thought she'd taken the normal 4th dose and all of the bonus, too.

AnnieMcFanny · 05/09/2024 17:43

@NeedSomeAnswersPlease I have my 5mg pens already but wasn’t going to go up to 5mg in one jump. This process has been plain sailing for me and I want it to continue like that as long as I can. It was always my plan to go up half a dose today but I never thought I’d be doing it with a syringe given my horror of them but it was ok. It really was ok.

My main reason for not using the bonus dose is that I hate the idea of using a syringe 😅 it gives me the creeps, even though it's fine for me to inject myself with that huge pen?😭

AnnieMcFanny · 05/09/2024 17:48

@NeedSomeAnswersPlease they do say there’s nowt as queer as fowk.

I live with my disabled son and his carers and they’re usually my go to angels when I need those anti clot shots in my tummy after any kind of surgery but there was just something about this that made me think - come on, just try. So I did. Honestly. It was painless. Though I was shaking for about an hour after it I was pleased with myself. I even put it in the family WhatsApp group 😂

MissFancyDay · 05/09/2024 18:09

I'm thinking that I need to order myself some insulin syringes for the off chance that the pen fails. I actually didn't think that I would be able to inject myself with the pen but, like a lot of things, thinking about it is worse than actually doing it, and it really is painless.

I've always intended to get one of those finger prick things that reads your insulin levels, but the thought of it cutting my thumb makes my bowels queasy 😂

Exactly - took me 10 seconds to order them on Amazon next day delivery, no questions asked! So no idea why Boots would interrogate me, sneer at me and then whisper to each other whilst looking at me 🤷🏼‍♀️

Wingingit11 · 05/09/2024 18:14

@Hollietree I bought online !

AnnieMcFanny · 05/09/2024 18:16

@MissFancyDay it was a shock when I couldn’t get the plunger to plunge today and I’ve absolutely no idea what happened. I do suspects though that I may have damaged it when doing the dose last week because the 4th dose and the bonus dose was already there so to speak. But maybe it was just a faulty pen and I’ll guess I’ll never know.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/09/2024 18:16

So we inject .6ml each time ?

Which say compared to 5ml of nurofen for my daughter. Is that right

So a tiny amount

OP posts:
Timetochange24 · 05/09/2024 18:17

I'm going to order some backup syringes too in case the 4 needles Voy provides fail. Can anyone recommend a good set (prime delivery if possible). I can't remember if it was this thread or another where someone ordered 100 instead of 10 and that's definitely something I would do!!

I'm definitely not feeling much suppression now (next jab Saturday) but still no urge to snack. I felt a completely new feeling earlier - being mentally satisfied from eating a good lunch. I've been feeling hungry but not snacking and again, instead of fixating on when it might be time to eat I'm just getting on with my day and forgetting about it because I know dinner will come around eventually.

Yes it's a tiny amount but most injections are! The pen says "4 doses of 0.6ml solution, 2.4ml solution that can be administered"

AnnieMcFanny · 05/09/2024 18:22

@Blondeshavemorefun I had the image in my head of the 5ml spoon of calpol I’d just given my grandson who’s off school sick and here’s with me.

And on a different note I must have let some of the medication drip onto my new top when priming the syringe and there is now a very dark purple mark on my top that won’t wash off.
