Mounjaro suppliers objective opinion

Hi, looking for a supplier for Mounjaro but I'm interested in objective opinions around price and service, rather than trying to get a discount code. I think there could be some push from some people to get their code used and therefore a recommendation might not be completely accurate. Thanks

@terriblyangryattimes I am currently with Boy and have been very happy with them but am potentially looking to move based on price!

Have now emailed both Carw and Family Chemist with my questions so will feed back

@Ivytheterrible I know we have chatted about Care before but can I ask a couple more questions please?

  1. What is their initial sign up process?
  2. What is their reordering process? Do you have to complete loads of forms every order etc? (Have to say this side of Voy has made me very lazy!😂)
  3. The dreaded maintenance... I am miles away but really would like to only move once as I’m a massive over thinker and reckon I can't take the stress again! 🤦‍♀️

Have just read a blog about maintenance from the family chemist so they are def on my list

Sign up process was pretty standard. The online questionnaire and photos while on scales. Then I had to email my previous prescription label.

I am just about to reorder so don’t know yet!

I asked about maintenance and this was the reply around 6 weeks ago. I have a lot to lose and his area is changing fast already so I’m reasonably confident I can use it longer term.

Can I ask @terriblyangryattimes is the Voy package discrete? How long did it take to come and once you have used the pen you can keep it out of the fridge (away from prying eyes!!) for a few weeks?

StormingNorman · 30/08/2024 15:19

I’ve been using myBMI for Wegovy and they’ve been excellent.

My “consultation” is usually approved within a few hours even on the weekend and the medication is dispatched straight away in a temperature controlled box. Arrives with me by Royal Mail a couple of days later. Never had a supply problem either.

I’m switching to Mounjaro this month but expecting the same level of service.

I don’t know how myBMI compares on price but the Mounjaro 5mg I’ve just ordered is £130. About half the price of Wegovy which is why I’m giving it a go.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 30/08/2024 18:54

@hopeishere your first order from Voy arrives in a plain box with no identifying marks on the outside other than a 'keep refrigerated' label. Inside, the box is in brand colours with Voy on the inside cover. It contains 4 needles and wipes, a small carry case to store your pen and the pen itself inside puffin cool packaging with cool packs.

Once you have used the pen, it can be kept out of the fridge for 30 days so long as it is kept under 30 degrees. Mine has been wrapped in foil in a food bag in the salad box where I KNOW nobody else is rummaging! 😂

hopeishere · 30/08/2024 19:00

Thanks. I need to pluck up the courage to order it now!

I'm on my fifth month with Voy, reliable and discreet service and I enjoy logging my progress on the app. They do offer a personal coach if you enjoy that and would find it useful. I've found the coach very goal focussed and not particularly knowledgeable. The customer service is excellent. Last month my prescription was reduced by £30, not sure why. I hope you get on well with the medication whichever provider you choose.

newbeggins · 30/08/2024 19:56

I use a nurse and really value the relationship we have.

QueenOfHiraeth · 30/08/2024 20:10

I have been with Chequp. I picked them because their lead clinician is an endocrinologist and they offered nutrition and exercise coaching as part of the package. They are a bit dearer because of that though.
I agree with whoever said upthread that the discount codes were unprofessional for prescription only medicine and the constant posting of them drove me mad so I would not have switched to any company using them.
Having said that I hated Chequp's advertising on FB and thought that was crossing the line of what the GPhC allow so that and the fact I no longer feel I need the coaching support means I am switching. I'm moving to a local pharmacy as I can collect it when it is convenient rather than waiting for delivery.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 30/08/2024 22:34

Just heard back from Voy about the discount for app users - apparently that ended on 1/8.

Forevafatty · 31/08/2024 14:05

I wondered if anyone who has used Care Pharmacy could tell me if your order usually arrives cold? I've noticed they make you agree that it can only be used for 30 days on the sign up procedures?

I'm only on my first pen but it arrived cold. I did pay the extra £7 for guaranteed before 1pm delivery just in case

SaulHudsonDavidJones · 21/09/2024 22:54

@Rorpethy Hi, how are you getting on with it? I've just had my bonus dose and am looking to order the 5ml now. I was hoping Care would automatically just renew but it seems like a fairly lengthy process again with body and scales photos, and they've not contacted me at all about follow on. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Rorpethy · 22/09/2024 07:23

Hi @SaulHudsonDavidJones I had my bonus dose last night. I'm still getting strong suppression and after the first few weeks of bad side effects, I've decided to stay on 2.5 for another pen. I've lost almost 16lb which I'm so happy with. How has the last month been for you?

I'm surprised care haven't been in contact, even if it just to increase the chance of another sale! So they're asking for scale pictures this time?

SaulHudsonDavidJones · 22/09/2024 07:30

@Rorpethy Wow that's a brilliant loss! My scales have stopped working and I need to buy another one, so I'm not sure on loss yet. The first week was great, I had really good suppression and my clothes started to feel less tight. My energy was good and I was optimistic. But it wore off to the point I now feel like I'm not losing and it's quite disheartening. I'm hopeful the 5 will kick start the suppression again because it was wonderful not thinking about eating all the time.

I have discovered with VOY, if you say you are going to cancel due to xodt they will give you £50 off your next order.

Freshersfluforyou · 22/09/2024 08:20

I find it really worrying so many people here see it as advantageous if an online pharmacy allows you to hide it from your GP that you are using this stuff.
Why on earth would it ever be an issue your GP knowing?! Its not your next door neighbour, or your aunty sue... Its your GP, who's first line responsible for your medical care, how can they treat you without knowing you are taking a significant drug. It smacks of people feeling shame they are taking it and wanting to pretend to their GP they've made changes like doing more exercise. Its so dishonest.

Orangesandlemons77 · 22/09/2024 10:01

If it helps any my GP were really supportive about it. I discussed it with them before starting. they were sorry they couldn't get it for me on the NHS yet, but asked me to come back if too expensive as might be able too in future, then wished me all the best with it.

Thebirdsandthebeads · 22/09/2024 12:19

I don't see it as my business if people wan to tell their GP or not. Many have valid reasonable reasons and some may not. No one owes you an explanation for it either. You can't make up a reason, play jury over people's intentions or personal decisions then judge it as "dishonest" when you have no clue. That's projection just to feel better. It's very rude.

WorriedRelative · 22/09/2024 12:24

I use bolt.

I didn't want a supplier that used discount codes or subscriptions because it is ethically dubious in my opinion.

They seemed reasonably priced and had a good maintenance policy.

They have been very quick and efficient. Each order has been processed quickly, my pen arrives quickly, well packaged and still cold, with needles and wipes plus a spare. The first order also included a sharpes bin.
