Mounjaro suppliers objective opinion

SaulHudsonDavidJones · 22/08/2024 10:44

Hi, looking for a supplier for Mounjaro but I'm interested in objective opinions around price and service, rather than trying to get a discount code. I think there could be some push from some people to get their code used and therefore a recommendation might not be completely accurate. Thanks

I'm with Voy. It was easy to get approved, very quick for them to send the first pen after approval (whole process done and pen received within 48 hours). The coach thing is fine but honestly barely scratches the surface of any kind of eating issues and I have to say, I am hugely sceptical that I can somehow "re-train" my brain to eat healthily to keep the weight off if I stop using Mounjaro.

Voy support is good. I have a call scheduled today with their medical team to query whether I should do my next 5mg full dose or split it up, given that I've had awful diarrhoea for the last six days.

Also they don't contact your GP which is nice if you want to keep it off your medical records.

missy111 · 23/08/2024 09:17

I've used Oushk. I have IBD so a lot of suppliers are an automatic no, but I had a long chat with their pharmacist who was super supportive and, for me, the ability to speak to someone on the phone with any worries is a priority.

Hope you don't mind me jumping on op, has anyone had experience with care pharmacy?

CandiedPrincess · 23/08/2024 09:04

Do you do the price match after you buy?

yeh; i just send them screenshot of the other provider and they credit my account with the difference

MortimerBeQuiet · 23/08/2024 10:13

It's weird because when I joined Voy back in April I had no contact from anyone in the 3 weeks I was taking it (it made me feel really ill so I stopped). I signed up for a coach but the first available appointment wasn't until 5 weeks later. No Whatsapp or anything. Sounds like they have got themselves sorted now, but nothing like my experience. The only contact I had was after emailing to cancel they offered to talk to me to see if I could change my mind. To be fair when I said no thanks, they didn't hassle and cancelling was processed efficiently enough.

Everyreason · 23/08/2024 10:17

I went with Boots. No discount but you do get Advantage Card points which has benefits.

I wanted peace of mind that the pen had been stored properly and that if it was damaged etc I could exchange it locally without having to return by post and wait for a replacement.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 23/08/2024 10:27

@Rorpethy I haven't but they are joint 1st on my list to move to!! Have read some very positive comments on the main threads in the last few weeks and like their website etc

Literally went with them in the end. Ordered last night, dispatched today. Can't fault them.

I've used Cloud Pharmacy twice now.

First order was approved and sent same day, however Royal Mail kept it in their hub for 48 hours which meant it arrived later than it should of and it arrived warm and the ice pack had leaked.

Cloud then replaced it no issues, and it arrived in perfect condition.

Yesterday, I ordered again from cloud at 1pm. It was delivered to me at 10am this morning, again in perfect condition.

They are a good price too and don't notify your GP if you ask them not to.

I've used Zava aswell, when they did next day delivery from ordering, packaged arrived in good condition and cold. Wouldn't use them again though as they have 7 day delivery window currently if you order now which I don't think is great, plus they notify the GP which not everyone wants.

Ozanj · 23/08/2024 11:16

I went through a private GP. It’s only 100/mth more expensive but includes weekly nurse appointments.

I ended up going with them and mine was dispatched today too. When do you plan on taking your first dose? I'd ideally take mine on a Friday evening but don't think I can wait a whole week so will probably take mine tomorrow evening.

SaulHudsonDavidJones · 23/08/2024 19:33

Due to receive it tomorrow and I honestly think I'll use it ASAP, despite plans Sunday 🫣 (worried I might get a jippy tummy). I don't think I'll be able to wait. Let me know how you get on!

Rorpethy · 23/08/2024 19:57

You saying that has just reminded me that I've got a baptism to go to Sunday. I'm going to risk taking it tomorrow night though. I won't be able to wait. Keep me updated on how you get on!

Are you nervous to actually inject it? I had a c section with my last DC and the blood thinning injections I had to take were horrific. I was supposed to do them for 6 weeks but only managed 9 days. And that was with DH doing them for me.

Those ones are a bit stingy but the MJ is most definitely not at all! I would honestly do it yourself, DH was possibly a bit heavy handed as they shouldn't be 'horrific'! (I'm a midwife and when I administer them people don't flinch or complain).

Honestly I'm not being dramatic at all. I have lots of piercings and am not scared of needles but I couldn't cope with those jabs! I don't know what my DH was doing. I won't be letting him near me with the MJ.

Im ok I think with the jab. We'll see! DH will do it and I won't look.

My advice is definitely to do it yourself! It's actually easier as the plunger is a bit awkward. It's easier to manage on yourself.

FlopFlaps · 24/08/2024 11:00

I just ordered. Used Zava in the end. Good luck to everyone starting!

Rorpethy · 24/08/2024 17:10

@SaulHudsonDavidJones has yours come? I'm so nervous to it.

hopeishere · 24/08/2024 17:20

Does Voy come in plain packaging? What about Boots? Can you collect in store?

Rorpethy · 24/08/2024 17:10

@SaulHudsonDavidJones has yours come? I'm so nervous to it.

Yes it arrived today 😬 I'm quite nervous and also can't really believe it could be the start of a slimmer me. I'll be so disappointed if it doesn't work. I'm going to inject after dinner so will let you know if I have any side effects at all. When's yours due to arrive?

OP posts:
Rorpethy · 24/08/2024 19:47

Mine came this morning and I've been thinking about it all day. I keep swinging between what you've just said about being the first step to a slimmer me, and oh my goodness what am I thinking?!

I'm undecided when to do it. Just before I go to sleep or once the kids have gone to bed? And should I try and keep my stomach empty before taking it or just eat as normal? I can't decide and everyone says different.

I’m using Pharmulous. I don’t see them mentioned much on here but my experience has been very good so far. They are helpful and answer questions thoroughly, they’re quick to respond to emails and even quicker if you contact them on WhatsApp. They also have a positive attitude towards prescribing for maintenance. Delivery has been two days for me but I think it’s next day if you order early. Packaging is discreet, they provide swabs and a few more needles than you need. Price-wise they’re broadly in line with most other places - probably not the absolute cheapest but definitely more affordable than Boots etc.

olympicsrock · 24/08/2024 19:48

I’m with Voy , initially cheap but then cost goes up but have referred others and kept cost down. Very responsive , good delivery service in refrigerated packaging .
The support and coaching element is good and customer services is good.
I meant to swap but ended up still with Voy 4 months later. They automatically increase the Dose every month for same price so I pay for a 10mg pen but get 10 x 5mg doses out of it.

TheHeadOfTheHouse · 24/08/2024 19:53

I use Lloyds pharmacy, one of the most expensive providers around.

the reason for this is …

  • the approve your medication within 30 mins
  • they dispatch it within an hour of approval
  • it comes the next day no problem

i also wanted to get it from a national well known pharmacy, not just some online pharmacy that I’ve heard of from a Facebook group.

Lloyds also are strict on their prescribing, they want a full face and ID video (not one that you can upload, but a live one) they also want a full length video of you, with you walking to the scales, standing on them and zooming into the weight bit.

they also don’t give you the option of opting out of telling your GP where as other pharmacies do.
